Will be on streaming soon! Really happy with this one. The harsh vocals especially turned out really great, and my partner did some backing vocals to add some extra pizzaz | brickhed
04.16.25 | i'll get to listening to it later today
would feel bad if i just passed by and let nobody give input since i know how that feels | Brabiz
04.16.25 | Thanks, i appreciate that lol. I find it difficult to grab people whenever i actually release something. I get a lot of excitement and engagement, like 20,000 views on an instagram post, with a bunch of positive comments and dms but then the second the song is out, and i promote it, 0 engagement or feedback.
Same deal posting here. Idk, it’s whatever. Really only making this stuff for myself. But it is a bit frustrating sometimes because apparently people really like this music | brickhed
04.16.25 | yeah very little people give me input on anything i put out
very interesting. really feels like a disjointed melting pot of ideas, which i find as a cool take on death doom metal. also putting the main emphasis on vocals and only doing melodic chords????? blasphemy, not true dm. the dissonant chords here and there are cool and kinda wish were there more.
eh not entirely my thing, since again its quite disjointed between stuff i like and do not. i'm sure those who like melodic death metal and the like will like this a lot more.
personal rating: 3/5. general rating: 3.5-4/5 | brickhed
04.16.25 | also production is super clean and really well done, has its pros and cons but here it works just fine. also ending is great, thats more like it | Brabiz
04.16.25 | For me, when I write music, I find it hard to stick to one style. For all of Eye of Mensis, I tend to use inspiration from different subgenres depending on the song. I have a certain way I like to structure songs, but I will pull from Doom Metal for slower moments, or from grind or black metal or whatever for the faster stuff. So I end up with a lot of songs that are all over the place, but I think have an overarching aesthetic and tone to them.
You’re absolutely right, it’s odd to focus on vocals and use melodic chords. BUT, I couldn’t stand to just pick a genre and be like “well this is how I have to do it” i don’t have the attention span to just 1:1 a music style for a project. Which is what I personally like about my own music and my band. But I can also see and fully understand how people would be put off by that, and I appreciate the analysis a lot. Thanks dude.
Also, fyi. This is the “soft” song on the album. Every other track is nonstop diminished riffs and blast beats and shit. That outro part seamlessly blends into the next track. Which super groovy and ass-fuckingly heavy. The track before this too, is like Morbid Angel if they were Dissonant Death Metal.
So hearing that, I’d probably actually recommend the album lmao | brickhed
04.16.25 | you seem very confident about your music
for me i come in with a certain vision and do my best to achieve it. for example, i wanna eventually do goregrind and brutal death metal, but i'm not cramming it in with my weird death metal project.
i'm a huge perfectionist about whatever i release and i listen to each track so much during production i think its not good. which is why i'm not too confident about my music. then i release it, advertise it, and only one or two people care.
there is a certain asthenic to cramming everything you like into one, but it's a double edged sword. its a bit like a "music for one" situation where only those who like all of those genres will like it. and they will really like it. but unchecked ambition can be fatal, so restraint is an idea i would recommend.
based on your descriptions that's not too much of an issue on the other tracks, which means i'll have to check out the album for a full analysis. | chemicalmarriage
