Futures 04.15.25	yeah this ranking ain't for me lol. but i am a big prometheus and covenant defender. i love that direction and world building. the engineers are just sick. david is one of the best characters ever, shame we didn't get a conclusion to the trilogy. fassbender is just so good.

rockarollacola 04.15.25	There are things I like and don't like about this ranking. Pros: I love seeing somebody who appreciates the greatness that is Prometheus, absolutely terrific science fiction movie. It's also nice to see somebody who thinks Covenant is solid as well. Cons: Alien is my favorite movie of all time, so seeing it in 6th place makes me want to puke. I also genuinely don't understand what's with all the Romulus glazing. That movie was okay for what it was, but it had some serious plot-hole issues that nagged on me the entire time I was watching it.

There’s nobody in The Thing as memorable as the Alien crew aside from Mac and Blair. And Aliens is amazing too cmon man lol. I agree about the rest of the series but I did enjoy Romulus
markjamie 04.15.25	Don't understand why The Thing is so highly rated. Maybe the problem is I saw it for the first time 40 years after release, but Alien scared and influenced me way more.
Wildcardbitchesss 04.15.25	Don’t get it twisted the thing is still a 10/10 imo but Alien edges it out. But yeah idk watching it as an adult in 2025… I dunno. I still think that kind of tension building is timeless and it’s practical effects are a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of shit we’ve gotten since then
MillionDead 04.15.25	Yeah my b, Aliens is also awesome too, but I guess I was kneejerk disregarding it because it's more of an action flick instead of horror. I also LIKED Romulus but it also had a good few stupid moments imo. One of my main loves about the Thing are the fucking one of a kind effects. CGI still could not look as good as some of the stuff they pull off there. The fact that they're actual props with lighting hitting them and actors seeing them grounds the eldritch, alien monstrosities so much. Plus, I like the paranoid/cabin fever narrative it's working with where everyone feels written so realistically.

Wildcardbitchesss 04.16.25	@million 1000% bro. I still feel like watching it today it’s pretty predictable that Kurt Russell would be the last man standing but that movie has tension like no other. It’s fucking anxiety inducing tbh. And like, just watch the prequel… I think that will help people who don’t “get” those things that we love about the thing. It does exactly the opposite of everything that The Thing executes fucking flawlessly. We’re going thru Tarantino movies rn but this has kinda made me wanna watch the Thing tonight god damn that movie fucking rocks. To be clear when I say Alien edges it out, it’s by a hair. It’s almost unfair to every other sci fi horror movie that’s been made since because they’re all going to be compared to people that struck gold 40+ years ago.

BAT 04.16.25	whatup calligy, and yeah i can understand people who put aliens above alien...but alien at #6 is blasphemous. Alien is my fav by far but love the entire series..except avp2 i saw that shit in theaters on christmas day and it's in like the top 5 worst movies i've seen in a theater. i initally hated alien 3 buuuut i'd only ever seen it on the 90s vhs which crops off like 48% of the image, bought the blu ray collection and gave the 'assembly cut' a chance annnd my opinion of it shot up quite a bit. it's horribly paced but i appreciate the attempt at bringing back the bleak vibe of the original movie, rest of the series relies more on the action pacing of aliens. however: i can completely understand why someone whose favorite is aliens haaaaaates alien 3 lmao. romulus was fun but derivative, really the only thing i outright didn't like about it was the deepfake ian holmes. the dude who played the android did a great job

DoofDoof 04.16.25	Alien then Aliens then Alien 3 The rest are sporadically ok but don’t feel like genuine Alien franchise and stuff like Prometheus is ‘Tool video’ quasi religious super pompous. Romulus was nearly good, the ending was quite wild, but still only a ‘nice try’. Maybe I’d put it 4th for being cute. The idea it’s better than the original is certainly something.
