To me, Green Day in and of themselves are almost a cringe proposition in and of themselves

Coltonmusic Dev Update #3

lotta developments as of late. most of the core functionality is almost done. all that's really left is adding lists... will list some of the new features below. also here's the demo link: https://streamable.com/vvbcpp
1Great Grandpa
Patience, Moonbeam

Filtering your ratings now supports genre filtering, which will be applied independently of the primary and secondary sort functionality. This means you can sort by year, and then by rating within a year, and then also by a certain genre so it'll only apply those sortings to albums that match your selected genre. There's a lot of different combinations you can apply and it makes viewing your own ratings so much easier than anything other site that I'm aware of provides
2 Destroyer
Dan's Boogie

Added genre pages. When viewing an album (or review) the genres for that album are displayed under its image. You can click one of them to view the page for that genre, which displays top rated albums within that genre, popular albums within that genre (most commented) and the most recently released albums within that genre. Very important for discovering new stuff you like
3Frog
1000 Variations on the Same Song

Added year pages. Same functionality as the genre pages but for years.
4Pinegrove
Cardinal

Added a home page. Yes it's essentially a ripoff of Sput's front page. This is one area where I didn't really feel the need to implement a very original design because the sput front page is honestly kind of perfect. It displays featured reviews as well as recent review/album comments and recent list comments
5Amanda Anne Platt and the Honeycutters
The Ones That Stay

Upgraded pie charts. I can't remember if pie charts were in the last update but they now display 8 genres and the formula for calculating them has been updated. Before, it was just calculated based on the amount of albums within a certain genre you had rated. This wasn't good because it meant that even if you've rated a bunch of albums within a certain genre low, they still showed up in your chart. Now it's actually using a weighted system based on your ratings.
6Neil Young
On the Beach

You can now see a list of people's ratings on an album's page (or on the review page). Trying to keep the UI for this nice and lightweight. So far there are 4 users and a few hundred ratings on the site.
7Sam Fender
People Watching

Various changes to the API, with better data validation and more robust methods of fetching and caching data. This is not something you will really see in the demo videos but it is very important.
8John K. Samson
Winter Wheat

Added the review page. There will be a comments section under each individual review as well as on the album page itself. I think it's better that way. I wanna give an incentive for writers to have their own threads but also not prevent album discussion before it has been reviewed. You can thumbs up or thumbs down reviews which will alter its approval percentage. These votes will be publicly viewable! No more ghost negs
9Craig Finn
I Need a New War

Budgie has been banned from the site for being rude.
10Father John Misty
I Love You, Honeybear

Demo here: https://streamable.com/vvbcpp

(quality's a bit rough just cause of the screen recording software I used, looks sharp in action though)
