03.31.25 | Blizzard is a husk of its former self tbh. All the devs who were actually worth a damn either left or got fired. Jeff Kaplan and his original overwatch dev team were remnants of a bygone era, and once he and others left I just completely wrote blizzard off. One of the most legendary gaming developers, fallen probably as far as Konami (but then again, Konami is making a comeback with Silent Hill). Also I love how they’re now changing all these things in Overwatch - you know, things the playerbase has been complaining about for years on end now - following the launch of Rivals. Really shows where their loyalties lay that it takes healthy competition for them to finally listen to their playerbase. I just want them to admit the 5v5 format was only a marketing ploy to rebrand the game, and ended up being a titanic failure. Devs need to learn to say “we screwed up badly” and just give players what they want |
