Black Sabbath

Sabbath's first 10 by preference. Dedicated to NeroCorleone80, the biggest Sabbath fan I've known on here.
1Black Sabbath
Vol. 4

Might be my 2nd fave album of all time (behind Mindcrime). Proggy, experimental and eclectic. Yes, it has Changes, but I've gotten used to it.
2Black Sabbath
Sabotage

A key precursor to thrash. Arguably more consistent than 1 and 3, however 3's degree of eclectiscism/variation gives it the edge.
3Black Sabbath
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Yes, I prefer the 4 to 6 run in Sabbath's catalog. As for why this is number 3, I guess 2 and 1 feel more ambitious for me, if this makes any sense.
4Black Sabbath
Mob Rules

My fave of the first 2 with Dio (RIP). Grimier, heavier and grittier than H&H. But the 3 above reached greater creative heights overall imo.
5Black Sabbath
Paranoid

Might be their most important record, but for me the production brings it down. The instrumental audio lacks balance in places.
6Black Sabbath
Never Say Die!

Not a fan of the closer, but this delivers the rock hard goods, especially in the 1st 3 songs.
7Black Sabbath
Technical Ecstasy

Might be their most emotional record. I guess the ones above simply rock harder.
8Black Sabbath
Master Of Reality

This one made me a Sabbath fan, but only love 4 songs on it. Not saying the rest is bad, but it just feels like not enough bang for the buck.
9Black Sabbath
Heaven And Hell

Hot take like 10, but also like 10, I'm not crazy about the 2nd half, save for Die Young
10Black Sabbath
Black Sabbath

Yes, a stepping stone for metal, but for me this loses steam after NIB (I own the US version)
