| Birthday Take 2025
Getting older quite sucks! But at least had the opportunity to visit some nice used media shops, mostly while travelling in the State of WA. | | 1 | | Front Line Assembly Millennium
First stopped at Half Price Books in Everett, WA. Didn't end up buying anything there, but they had a load of Front Line Assembly albums. | | 2 | | Hotwire The Routine
Next, visited Lost in the Groove in Mount Vernon, WA. This was a sweet store, with low prices and a decent (yet older) selection. Found this gem of a nu metal album. | | 3 | | Klone All Seeing Eye
Also picked up this alternative metal (Toolish) album at Lost in the Groove, as well as Klone's "Unplugged" album | | 4 | | No Doubt Rock Steady
Finally bought this from Lost in the Groove, as been in a Ska/Ska Punk and No Doubt mood for a few months now. | | 5 | | Tomahawk Mit Gas
Next, made it up to Bellingham, WA and the great Ritual Records. Awesome store - with both new and used media. Found this Mike Patton classic for little more than $1. | | 6 | | Five Iron Frenzy Upbeats and Beatdowns
Also picked up a ska punk album... | | 7 | | Save Ferris It Means Everything
...and this ska pop album. | | 8 | | Dislocated Styles Pin the Tail on the Honkey
Always on the lookout for obscure rap metal, and found this one-off album at Ritual Records. | | 9 | | Butcher Babies Goliath
Next, made it back down to SEA-TAC, and visited the nearby Half Price Books. Bought this beast of a metalcore album. | | 10 | | Gwen Stefani The Sweet Escape
And bought a pop album - for $2. | | 11 | | Murderdolls Beyond The Valley of the Murderdolls
Made it back to GA, but was next in Athens (at UGA). Bought this gothic metal CD for $3 at a record store next to Wuxtry. Primarily to hear the great Joey Jordison on guitar. | | 12 | | 24-7 Spyz Strength in Numbers
Next, went to Wuxtry. TBH, didn't find much but this early rap/rock hybrid album for $5 - and didn't pull the trigger. | | 13 | | Spiritbox Tsunami Sea
Finally, to cap my birthday off, purchased Tsunami Sea from Amazon. Coming on release day (Friday, 3/7) - Can't wait! | |

03.09.25 | @artiswar:
4 - OK, but the reggae beats are nothing compared to the ska punk in Tragic Kingdom and The Beacon Street Collection
10 - haven't listened in full yet
11 - Sophomoric, but does have a few good tracks and covers. Joey's guitar work is not even close to as good as Scar the Martyr or Vimic.
13 - Received on Friday - haven't had a chance to listen to it fully yet. | efp123
03.09.25 | hbd buddy | budgie

03.15.25 | Thanks efp123!
Regarding 13, digging this album so far. Prepared a light review on my thoughts. | pizzamachine
03.15.25 | “for $2.”
A steal | JDubb
03.23.25 | Regarding #10. Loved Gwen in early No Doubt - and her vocals are still good (excepting yodeling). And always buying albums to expand my interests. But this album is just stock pop to me. |
