anode 01.27.25	I enjoy expressing my opinions about music which is the point of the website. I also frequently express positive thoughts on music but I’m not going to filter my negative opinions because that defeats the purpose of being on the internet. If people are affected by the opinions of strangers on the internet than that’s clearly an issue with them especially considering that I’m not explicitly malicious towards others and pandering to people doesn’t help anyone

Your comment was actually quite rude. Here this user is showing us their favorite album covers, or possibly just documenting them for their own purposes, and you effectively insult them for it. You did the same thing on my lists too. Commenting what basically amounted to "I don't like these albums/your taste in music." Like, ok. Why should I care? If you don't like my taste, then the list isn't for you. Stay respectful and just move on.
anode 01.27.25	i think theres a semantic miscommunication here. i meant in the sense of affecting one's affect. its kind of impossible to have a conversation without being affected by it in one way or another because thats the point of communication i guess. what i said was rude, sure, but idk it depends on perspective. i would prefer someone express their rude comment to me so i can learn others' perspectives on things and have a discussion about it than move on with the prospect of being "respectful". if you post your opinions on the internet, you are opening yourself to criticism and even invite it if you ask me. yeah i was being a little cheeky, but it's a valid criticism and i think it benefits people to be aware of differing perspectives. forum sites are not all about circle jerks like a lot of people on this site seem to think i like that we have differing opinions on music. i made that comment to learn more about your perspective and try to understand music appreciation in general. was hoping for a discussion about it not to offend

And regarding my lists, if you were honestly "hoping for a discussion about it," that was not clear at all in your phrasings. You can't expect the non-regulars to enjoy using this site when there's people around that drop personal insults whenever they feel like it. And yes, they are personal. Music is intensely personal.
