01.27.25 | Skulls and wolves and red and black and castles and metal and fuck and yeah! |
cylinder
01.27.25 | anode, have you ever considered keeping your negative opinions to yourself? or do you get some kind of kick out of spreading your joylessness around? |
anode
01.27.25 | I enjoy expressing my opinions about music which is the point of the website. I also frequently express positive thoughts on music but I’m not going to filter my negative opinions because that defeats the purpose of being on the internet. If people are affected by the opinions of strangers on the internet than that’s clearly an issue with them especially considering that I’m not explicitly malicious towards others and pandering to people doesn’t help anyone |
cylinder
01.27.25 | you're clearly affected by the opinions of strangers on the internet too, otherwise you wouldn't make those kinds of comments |
anode
01.27.25 | Not sure I follow your logic |
cylinder
01.27.25 | These album covers are this user's favorites. We can see that you were affected by this opinion based on the fact that you felt the need to insert your opposing opinion. Your comment was actually quite rude. Here this user is showing us their favorite album covers, or possibly just documenting them for their own purposes, and you effectively insult them for it.
You did the same thing on my lists too. Commenting what basically amounted to "I don't like these albums/your taste in music." Like, ok. Why should I care? If you don't like my taste, then the list isn't for you. Stay respectful and just move on. |

01.27.25 | i think theres a semantic miscommunication here. i meant in the sense of affecting one's affect. its kind of impossible to have a conversation without being affected by it in one way or another because thats the point of communication i guess.
what i said was rude, sure, but idk it depends on perspective. i would prefer someone express their rude comment to me so i can learn others' perspectives on things and have a discussion about it than move on with the prospect of being "respectful". if you post your opinions on the internet, you are opening yourself to criticism and even invite it if you ask me. yeah i was being a little cheeky, but it's a valid criticism and i think it benefits people to be aware of differing perspectives. forum sites are not all about circle jerks like a lot of people on this site seem to think
i like that we have differing opinions on music. i made that comment to learn more about your perspective and try to understand music appreciation in general. was hoping for a discussion about it not to offend |
budgie
01.27.25 | @_@ |
cylinder
01.27.25 | it's a "valid criticism"? maybe this user IS 14. how would you know?
And regarding my lists, if you were honestly "hoping for a discussion about it," that was not clear at all in your phrasings.
You can't expect the non-regulars to enjoy using this site when there's people around that drop personal insults whenever they feel like it. And yes, they are personal. Music is intensely personal. |
anode
01.27.25 | if the user is 14 then that would make it the most valid of criticisms lol. haha i dont really remember what i said on your list, ill go read it. im getting the feeling that this is a case of you not needing to take everything so seriously haha like chill tf out man, its an internet music discussion site |
anode
01.27.25 | so on the grind list i was entirely courteous and actually said i was looking forward to checking some of it and enjoyed tannhauser gate |
anode
01.27.25 | alright a few jokes at your expense on the knee-jerk top 100 list and made fun of the national and obscure noise music. summarized it by "we look at music differently". oh man what a monster |
cylinder
01.27.25 | "if the user is 14 then that would make it the most valid of criticisms lol"
actually, it would completely invalidate it. dude i'm just saying you can do what you do in a kinder way. but if you see no reason to make that slight adjustment, then whatever, you do you |
vult
01.27.25 | This list has to be bait |
anode
01.27.25 | debatable haha. i actually dont consider any of what ive said to you or in this thread for that matter unkind. this is the internet. people are expected to say what they think. as long as youre not trying to be hurtful, the only thing you could do wrong is be inauthentic. idk like ive said before, we're polar opposites in how we look at things. but really man, no malice or ill intent. appreciate the discussion |
BookoftheFallen
01.28.25 | None of these even have boobs on them |
Havey
01.28.25 | priest covers go hard |
Brabiz
01.28.25 | The un-cropped version of 2 is fucking sick and probably the band’s best art. Otherwise this list is unhinged and I’m afraid of you |
oltnabrick
01.28.25 | 7 is my all time favorite cover so good pick there at least |
arthropod
01.28.25 | 5 & 10 are cool because ANIMAL SKULLS. |
SuzyC
01.28.25 | Yeah, that Judas Priest cover is definitely the funniest of all the ones you listed, in my opinion anyway. |
brickhed
01.29.25 | The only one I personally like is number 3. Gives off a genuinely creepy vibe. The rest are ehh okay it's either animal skulls or those badass skeletons with facebook dad quotes vibes |
