| Mix Tape Series - 1
Growing up in the late 1980's and 1990's - mix tapes were huge! For next to nothing, one could purchase 5 to 10 blank cassette tapes, of either 60 or 90 minute lengths, and make multiple musical smorgasbords. Early on, I taped my fav songs off the radio - as well as live (in-studio) concerts. Later, mix tapes were used primarily for sharing with others, or in my case, making mixes to conduct extreme sports (e.g., rock climbing, wake boarding) to; but we'll get to that later. Regarding sharing, my first mix tape was given to me in ~1990 by one of my best friends, the DB. He took a crap new music sampler (about 20 min on each side) - and taped over it. I listened to this short tape over and over, and it would shape my musical taste for years and decades to come. As well as my preference for "Ride the Lightning" over "Master of Puppets", as well as most other Metallica albums. | | 1 | | Metallica ...And Justice For All

01.12.25 | Found a whole box of tapes in my mom's garage two years ago, including some with old radio stuff. Fascinating thing.
Trapped Under Ice slaps btw. |
