Only got into these guys this summer, been caning them so much they topped my Spotify Wrapped. Been through every album multiple times (except the first two - not on Spotify and I'm ultimately too lazy), and there's so little to separate many of them. Breeee!
1Benighted
Obscene Repressed

The most consistently high quality album on the list. Nearly every song is one of my favourites by the band, the flow is perfect with Imore The Negative working as a break in the madness before grinding all the way home. One of their few albums that doesn't feel remotely front loaded.
Highs: Smoke Through the Skull; Scarecrow; Mom, I love You The Wrong Way
2Benighted
Identisick

Massive step up from ICP, both production-wise and with Julien getting a much more solid grip on his psychotic voice. The title-track absolutely slays, and there are many high points that mark this out as a high that would be hard to match.
Highs: Nemesis; Identisick; Iscarioth
3Benighted
Ekbom

Keep going up and down on this: sometimes it blows me away, others it is merely great. Feels a bit front-loaded, with the second half sometimes feeling a bit like a pale Obscene Repressed wannabee, but easily stands on its own without the comparison. The production is also a massive plus.
Highs: Le Vice Entrailles; Nothing Left to Fear; Fame of the Grotesque
4Benighted
Asylum Cave

The first album I listened to, and I played it a ton. The most bat-shit crazy album I think I have ever heard, although sometimes the total bonkers-ness of it kind of works against the coherency of the album, particularlt once their others had been explored.
Highs: Let the Blood Spil Between My Broken Teeth; Hostile; A Quiet Day
5Benighted
Necrobreed

Still a great album, though it feels relatively patchy to me. I want to love anything with Trev on it, but Forgive Me Father sits quite unomfortably here, feels like an outlier and rocks the flow early on. An unusual one in that it's possibly back-loaded,with the closer being an absolute beast in their library.
Highs: Reptilian; Necrobreed; Mass Grave
6Benighted
Carnivore Sublime

I get why many don't dig this, feels like quite a treading-water album compared to most, but its best tracks are still unbearably great. Definitely a better first half than second tho.
Highs: X2Y; Experience Your Flesh; Jekyll
7Benighted
Insane Cephalic Production

The one I have listened to the least, mostly because of the weaker production and doesn't really feel like Julien has quite got a handle on how great his voice can be. A great building block though.
Highs: Bestial Breeding; Deviant; Insomnies

Icon

The first four tracks are immense, but it never comes close to these highs again until the very end. Feels like a big step back after Identisick, although the Sput avg seems like I'm on my own with this take.
Highs: Slut; Saw It All; Blindfolded Centuries
