11.21.24 | which won do you use/work for? |
Colton
11.21.24 | never used any of them in my life and never will. just go to the store yourself like an adult tbh |
Futures
11.21.24 | none because i am not lazy or made of money |
DominionMM1
11.21.24 | only places I order delivery from are places that have their own drivers. all those 3rd party delivery services are insanely priced. |
ToSmokMuzyki
11.21.24 | i walk to the store |
JeetJeet
11.21.24 | Doordash. Not proud to admit it has me in a headlock this month |
someone
11.21.24 | My local Vietnamese mompop takeout place where I call and collect within like 10 minutes. Best food you'll get for miles. |
ToSmokMuzyki
11.22.24 | vietnamese is good, real food, my local place also has a selection of like 30 different milkshake flavours |
Dedes
11.22.24 | Messenger pigeon |

11.22.24 | Colton shut the hell up. |
Spec
11.22.24 | DoorDash has the angriest drivers on the planet. Skip The Dishes have had a few fuckups but customer support has always rectified them for me. I haven’t used Uber Eats that much but I haven’t had an issue with them yet. |
gryndstone
11.22.24 | i do work for doordash, especially now that my job is in its off-season (god willing i find a second, better one) i will never have food delivered if i can help it bc they upcharge that food for sure + the amount of DD pay vs. tip is INSANE and i won't tip less than 5 bucks. Anyways doordash does last-mile delivery now (like, usps type shit) and that actually pays alright? It's still coming out of my own car but at least i know i'm getting 100+ bucks for four hours of work before the fact |
Trebor.
11.22.24 | I can't afford that shit honestly |
bellovddd
11.22.24 | uber eats has the most options here in Aus. also lmao colton. i've seen your food. |
Spec
11.22.24 | I always hate the “jUsT gO tO tHe StOrE” arguments. Sometimes people are tired, sometimes people are drunk, sometimes people don’t have cars etc. Let people do things, we all know it’s a ripoff. |
Futures
11.22.24 | pizza places have it figured out. that's a fair price for the service. every huge place should just do that. |
ThyCrossAwaits
11.22.24 | Oh it’s DD all the way over here |
efp123
11.22.24 | Everybody has a certain ways of doing things. Stop being pricks. I have personally never used any of these services, but I’m not better than anyone |
ToSmokMuzyki
11.22.24 | >I always hate the “jUsT gO tO tHe StOrE” arguments
behold, the triggering of a lazy fatass on the internet |
bellovddd
11.22.24 | Smok spoken like someone who doesn’t have a job. Well done. |
Koris
11.22.24 | Can't say I have much of a dog in this fight, as I usually just go to the mini-mart five minutes away from me. But I guess I'll go with Uber Eats, as I've at least used it a few times 🤷♂️ |
ToSmokMuzyki
11.22.24 | shopping rly doesnt take that long and u only have to do it once a week max for top ups |
Trebor.
11.22.24 | I keep a lot of emergency ready meals around the house |
Demon of the Fall
11.22.24 | never have, never will
this trend really started to boom a few years back(? - dunno time goes fast) and because I was already in my 30s by this point, I cannot possibly adapt to such a drastic change in my options
seriously tho it does kinda seem like flushing your hard-earned down the toilet, but I understand the temptation once you've gotten your feet wet |
SteakByrnes
11.22.24 | They all suck and make food cost a lot more than if you were to just go get it lol |
mryrtmrnfoxxxy
11.22.24 | i order from Uber eats occasionally. trying to stop that tho, shit adds up |
Demon of the Fall
11.22.24 | I wonder what % of sales are alcohol / weed fuelled, lol
I understand not all takeaways do their own delivery services (especially now they don't need to) but it's especially wild to order from a sit-in restaurant, to then eat it at home.
Restaurants are more expensive for a reason, eating at home loses you these perks but you're still shelling out extra (+ a fee on top... of course you don't need to tip, so that may offset it, but still) |
Hyperion1001
11.22.24 | ordering food instead of just cooking like an adult is degenerate behavior |
denboy
11.22.24 | I use delivery services way more than is remotely reasonable but i absolutely hate grocery shopping.
i should probably just use grocery delivery services instead tbh |
Trebor.
11.22.24 | You can just pick everything on the grocery store app now and drive up and pick it up
It's also clutch to have a fast food or restaurant walking distance from your place but not everyone is so lucky
If I'm high or drunk I just accept that I won't be driving or eating out |
Dedes
11.22.24 | @hype god bless brother
Just buy a stockpot
Make 10 liter batch of ham and potato soup
Food for the week |
Dedes
11.22.24 | Fr tho I totally think shaming someone for ordering out a bit often is kinda goofy lmao like yeah no shit its more money and is more convenient but dude when you're putting in mental work grinds cooking for yourself becomes much less desirable, i get it. When I worked 75 hour weeks for festivals at the deli my local chinese takeout (5 min walk from me lmao) became my best friend. Sesame chicken combo 4 days |
Demon of the Fall
11.22.24 | It's so expensive for what you receive (food + the experience etc.) that I'd rather just eat out
I won't shame anyone for having circumstances that don't allow that, it's just a personal choice
The people I know that would use these services do it a lot more regularly than I would go to a restaurant, so even if my outings are more expensive, I still likely spend less overall |
iHaveSex
11.23.24 | Sometimes after a long night of plowing I need something quick and hassle free in which I use skip |
Butkuiss
11.23.24 | None because the markup here is insane. Legit 30-50% more expensive to get food delivered than drive five minutes down the road. Learning to cook and taking it seriously as a hobby has been one of the best financial decisions I’ve ever made lmao. |
Spec
11.23.24 | I’d like my choice changed to Uber Eats as they usually have some sort of promo that brings the price down to regular levels. |
