10.14.24 | Another thread where I get to mention the heavily overlooked and equally creepy Blut Aus Nord album Deus Salutis Meæ. Can't say I've listened to MoRT recently (if ever) so I'm not sure which one is more evil sounding. I just know DSM makes me uncomfortable as hell. |

10.15.24 | Have you listened to Throbbing Gristle's Slug Bait?
That's where I got terrified from such 70s music.
Will give some of those albums a listen, Ephemeral.
17 might be the disturbing one I couldn't understand at the time I was into subgenre of metal. |

10.15.24 | Checking out 7 now. |

10.15.24 | Sorry mate some of us have lives outside of sputnik (not me I'm just rude) |
EphemeralEternity
10.15.24 | @Christbait Deus is a better album, MoRt is pretty boring, but as a concept piece it's disturbing how inhuman it sounds since there's very little in the way of patterns or structure |
Jurtz
10.15.24 | "Sorry mate some of us have lives outside of sputnik (not me I'm just rude)"
It's okay, I don't either
Thanks for updating! |

10.15.24 | @ReiniEden
I stumbled on the title track about 12 years ago when I was just beginning to venture into extreme metal and it melted my mind. 12 years later it still does really.
The same guy was behind Senthil, Thra'el, Triphane, Kimaat and Abduct but their projects went quiet after 2012. I remember someone saying he killed himself, which wouldn't be too shocking or maybe he got promoted to an upper executive position at a wealth management firm and no longer had time to write music. |

10.15.24 | khanate and old would fit really well with gnaw their tongues, since its roughly the same members and all |

10.15.24 | @Ephemeral, yeah I think I remember listening to bits of MoRT and realizing how formless it all sort of was. |

10.15.24 | diamanda galas - plague mass |

10.15.24 | You know what, I find 4 calming. The last track that disturbed me was "Scars of the Shattered Sky" by Agalloch (good nightly listen, actually). |

10.15.24 | A lot of these are weirdly calming - even though the soundscapes are abrasive and cold and dissonant there’s something beautiful about how uncompromising they are that makes them feel so refreshing especially after being forced to listen to generic tend hopping dogshit at work (I like a lot of pop too but so much of it feels soulless). When I’m in a shitty mood any upbeat tunes make it infinitely worse like rubbing salt in a wound
I guess you could argue some are trying too hard to be outré and creepy but it’s still a whole lot more refreshing than most other shit. That said I don’t very regularly listen to this stuff

10.15.24 | Agreed. Personally more into this type of music when at peace of mind, shitty mood summons metalcore. |

10.15.24 | Glad to see Yamaoka's SH4 soundtrack there. Some dark shit on each of the first five SH OST's. Dance with Night Wind is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. |
