This is soooo good. The tension between the haunting and sparse and the immediate and uplifting just wrecks me, I guess maybe I like Overgrown a little more and CMYK is its own beast, but wow what a debut
This has some crazy highlights! The t/t, The Wheel, and Tempest have all stuck in my playlists for the last few months, even if the full album lulls a little near the end
While I certainly prefer the ambient pop of Ruinism, Lapalux's deconstructed-Burial aesthetic serves ALT RnB quite well too. One Thing is a fantastic song
@butkuiss lowkeyyyy idk how many of these artists I'd go out of my way to see see. I'd probably go see Blake but tbh a lot of the alt rnb I'm gravitating to is insular and sad and who wants a crowd for that?
