08.27.24 | People complaining about moshing online is always funny. Just move to another part of the venue bro, its not that serious |
TheGreatQ
08.27.24 | There’s a difference between complaining about moshing and complaining about someone intentionally throwing you into a pit. |

08.27.24 | Nah it was gay. At a Chevelle show of all places |

08.27.24 | The band messaged me and offered to have us come to their next show here stage side, so was worth it |

08.27.24 | sorry to hear that man, this sounds terrible. moshing ain't about actually hurting each other, it's supposed to be just bumping into each other n shit. i've been to a lot of metal shows, and the etiquette is always to not mess with anyone who's not actually in the pit. i was moshing during Homewrecker when i saw Converge, slipped on a beer puddle a couple times and dudes helped me right back up. sounds like these guys would've just stomped on me |
Brabiz
08.27.24 | Yeah, we went and saw Boundaries a few weeks ago. Fucking insane, rager of a show, and I got absolutely fucked up in the pit. 0 complaints though because the people weren’t dickheads and knew how to act. I got punched in the face and busted my elbow open. Yet I have 0 complaints about any of that. |

08.27.24 | very weird comments in here. the countless metal shows i've been at there was always comraderie in the pit with people helping each other up and having a blast together. what you describe sounds stupid and i certainly would've been mad about it as well. |

08.27.24 | no we just don’t go to buttrock shows |

08.27.24 | That’s pretty lame. Chevelle is great |

08.28.24 | Yea it really depends on who’s playing and where at to see if etiquette plays with those factors considered. A lot of kids don’t know etiquette but some have lived through the scene to understand. I still mosh on occasion cuz I physically still can after 17 years going to shows but it’s for local bands to show support. I love and grew up to Chevelle but yeah these oldheads have shit to prove and wanna express what’s bottled up…. at a Chevelle show… |
Senetrix666
08.28.24 | a moshpit for a radio rock band is just such a funny image |
Brabiz
08.28.24 | We distanced ourselves from the pit but it still didn’t matter. The cavemen were diving thru everyone outside of the pit. Not to mention, the pit was only 2-3 people tops.
Then there was some cringe dickhead in a Halloween mask trying to act all spooky crawling through the crowd. It was honestly lame as fuck, which was a shame because they really did put on a great show, and the set list was mostly deep cuts.
Love this band, and I didn’t expect there to be a pit given the crowd, and how no one was over 5’9”, but before they started, I heard some young broccoli hair kid say “dude I want to start the craziest pit. I saw a video”
And that should’ve been all I needed to know |

08.28.24 | Chevelle fan [derogatory] |
Klekticist
08.28.24 | disrespecting people's physical safety like that isn't acceptable. concussions and aneurysms are serious concerns. the blase attitude expressed in some of these comments is same type of attitude that leads to shitty situations like this at concerts. metal shows aren't a place to take out your anger issues on others. |

08.28.24 | Throwing people = bad yeh |
Brabiz
08.28.24 | The idea of people moshing for the entirety of Jars was silly. Definitely not the band or crowd for it. Some woman 5 people ahead of the pit kept getting her shit rocked by these morons. Like, yeah let’s dive face first into 12 people with their backs to you while Piistol Star of all songs plays. Real badass. Not to mention the attempts at crowd surfing. Everyone seemed to be on the same page too, of telling these people to fuck off. It was obnoxious.
Never seen so many Tool shirts and trophy wives in my life. |
Faraudo
08.28.24 | I mean its a Chevelle concert, what were you expecting? |
Futures
08.28.24 | I got in this moron’s face and was screaming at him, like “what the fuck is wrong with you? Are you retarded?”
this situation definitely sucks but i laughed out loud at this |
GreyShadow
08.28.24 | throwing you into the pit is wild, i've never seen anything like that |
chemicalmarriage
08.28.24 | I usually require written and verbal consent - that is only after two, and I repeat two forms of i.d. are shown, and then we can mosh but when I'm done you have to stop. Also no eye contact and if you are wearing a tool shirt I'll get mad and think you're the guy that banged my ex. |
AlexKzillion
08.28.24 | idky but i always pictured a chevelle crowd to be a little more chill/nerdy than your average buttrock crowd but apparently fucking not lol
i do generally find that most bands who aren't full-on METAL or at least in the punk/hardcore realm that get pits generally turn out like this tho haha. chevelle is prob the most intense thing most of these guys listen to so of course they wouldn't know pit etiquette. |
