Musical biases

Whether you want to admit it or not, we've all got 'em. I'll fully admit these - there is indeed a method to my madness.
1Silverstein
A Shipwreck in the Sand

Concept albums - I can't lie to you all and pretend I don't love unpacking and understanding full album narratives. Even when they're not directly promoted as such, when there's a common thread along an entire album I'm usually more invested.
2Collapse Under the Empire
Shoulders and Giants

"Crescendocore" - long builds and satisfying crescendos are almost always a winner for me. I always love a good payoff.
3Thursday
War All the Time

The "emo" style of singing - generally sounds more authentic and relatable to me than most other vocal palates. While not as technically skilled, the passion is there.
4Tool
Lateralus

Uncommon time signatures and bizarre structures - sometimes the old 4/4 vcv formula gets stale and it's time to switch it up. It's not required, but sometimes it's a breath of fresh air.
