Borderline perfect ranking though, just needs the obligatory disclaimer that this band will never release anything above a 3.0 |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | We're gonna disagree there Johnny lol |
SteakByrnes
10.30.23 | Very much a newer fan ranking, I've noticed a lot of people who discover the band around like sempiternal or after that dislike anything they've done before it. I myself cannot stand much of anything past 2013 besides a few tracks here and there, and my ranking is like 3 > 7 > 6 > 1 > Edge of Your Seat EP > 2 > the rest |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | "Very much a newer fan ranking"
Guilty as charged. I don't necessarily dislike Suicide Season, but I just don't remember it as much because I've listened to the other albums so much more |
JohnnyoftheWell
10.30.23 | Suicide Season under TTS and There is a Hell under Post Human are the only two major missteps here, but early BMTH is hysterically bad |
autosacrifice
10.30.23 | this list is pretty spot on. i'd only move suicide season up above amo. i haven't really given post human a fair shot so idk where id rank it. count your blessings sucks outside of pray for plagues. been a fan for over a decade too lol |
Feather
10.30.23 | What steak said.
3 > 6 > 1 > 2 > 7 > 4 > 5
Suicide season and There is a hell are really the only two I really return to to spin the whole thing. Ep was a surprise in quality after Amo and TTS. I enjoy specific tracks on each but there is just so much garbage on both release. |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | I don't think you could convince me that an album with the song title "Tell Slater to Wash His Dick" is good lmao |
JohnnyoftheWell
10.30.23 | Cannot believe I'm sticking up for it, but Amo is so misunderstood in this band's discog and the way it filters their -core fans is kinda based
Still at least 50% total garbage, but |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | I've found that the highs on Amo are super fucking high. Like, Mantra is one of BMTH's best post-Sempiternal songs, Wonderful Life is a fantastic track too, and I really have been enjoying Sugar Honey Ice & Tea lately |
SteakByrnes
10.30.23 | idk why you're so attracted to bmth discourse johnny lol
"I don't think you could convince me that an album with the song title "Tell Slater to Wash His Dick" is good lmao"
are song titles the end all be all now? idk it's just a fun at the gates melocore deathcore album, I guess if you don't like that style ya it'll be bad for you |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | It's definitely not the end all be all, but it definitely colored my perceptions of the album a lot.
Hyperbolic joke statements aside, I'm just not a big deathcore guy in general yet. I'm trying to get into the genre, and maybe when I do, I'll go back and reappraise Count Your Blessings |
onionbubs
10.30.23 | bring johnny the horizon
there is a hell is the only one i really still come back to but def in the early albums >> later albums camp. pretty bad band now but they can randomly out of the blue surprise me with a good song here and there like amen or kingslayer |
JohnnyoftheWell
10.30.23 | bmth is the radiohead of prolapsed hot topic core lol, how could anyone not be attached to the discourse |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | Amen had no right being as good as it was. Saw it live when BMTH opened for Fall Out Boy, and holy shit what an opener |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | If Nex Gen's bulk is as good as its singles, I think it'd probably slot just above Amo in my rankings |
Feather
10.30.23 | Mantra, wonderful life, ouch, doomed and throne are the only 5 tracks I would come back to off Amo or TTS. I appreciate Amo’s sound more than TTS which isn’t nearly as adventurous for them.
Pray for plagues, slater and Medusa are the 3 tracks I remember top of mind off of CYB. |
Feather
10.30.23 | @Animal jealous you got to see bmth and fob at the same show. Would have loved to have been there. Both bands are so great live |
AnimalForce1
10.30.23 | Gf got tickets on an insanely good deal, so unbelievably worth it! BMTH put on a fuckin' show, and FOB literally sounds perfect live. They were rocking out like it was the 2000s |
onionbubs
10.30.23 | i think in my life ive had amo anywhere between a 1.5 and a 4 lmao. not currently a fan of that album whatsoever but its got like 3 ish songs i like (nihilist blues, ouch, opener)
vs tts which is one of the worst albums of the 2010s |
JohnnyoftheWell
10.30.23 | TTS is one of the worst albums of the *century |
onionbubs
10.30.23 | actually yeah you're right good correction |
Shemson
10.30.23 | 1.There is a hell
2.Sempiternal
3.Suicide season
4.Count your blessings
5.this is what the edge of your seat was made for
Rest is shite |
AlexKzillion
10.30.23 | most 3.5 band ever so kinda unrankable but that's the spirit feels slightly ahead of the rest |
bellovddd
10.30.23 | 3 is the only album these dudes have done that isn't a complete dumpster fire. it amazes me how many people see this band as groundbreaking and think Oli is good. each to their own I guess :/ |
AlexKzillion
10.30.23 | i feel like these guys are unquestionably a pretty groundbreaking and influential band... for better or worse |
bellovddd
10.30.23 | maybe groundbreaking to a certain age or person who doesn't know any better? I say that in a nice way because these guys came out right at a time for me when so many bands were doing what they were doing 10000 times better and Oli is a bad vocalist. |
Spec
10.30.23 | Amo rules and everybody knows it. Fess up boys. |
bellovddd
10.30.23 | oooooooooo no. that's probably their worst :/ |
FrozenFirebug
10.30.23 | 1. can you feel my heart
2. kingslayer and the interlude before it

feels like kind of a dated take. bmth is groundbreaking in that they are like the only heavy-guitar band who is truly relevant and thriving in the mainstream and have been for quite some time, and its because of the music they release today and not 20-30 years ago. and they've done that all while so clearly setting the career template for every scene-metalcore band of the last decade.
the majority of their current listener-base has never heard of nor cares about their pre-sempiternal material, its like the equivalent of hair metal pantera at this point. all their contemporaries from 10 years ago are nostalgia acts at this point besides architects, who are prob the prime example of bmth's influence. meanwhile bmth is perfoming with ed sheeran on national tv. i don't think really anyone's mixed heavy music with pop the way they have, at least not since like linkin park. if it was so easy there would be way more current bands at a similar level but there just aren't. |
bellovddd
10.30.23 | oh BMTH are relevant and thriving still? I must be out of the loop then :/ |
SteakByrnes
10.30.23 | They are more relevant and thriving than they ever have been ya lol |
Feather
10.30.23 | Yeah, they have gotten shockingly more popular |
bellovddd
10.31.23 | well I am thankful to be living in a world where they are not popular and everyone I personally know do not like them. long may it continue. |

10.31.23 | 3 is 1 and 7 is 7 |

Among Gen Z metalheads especially. A lot of their newer stuff has been serving as gateway drugs for new metalheads. I'd say that when people who've gotten into the genre through Sleep Token or Bad Omens are looking for a new band, BMTH is likely to be one of the first ones they look to |
