5: beleriand n land of dead are the stars here, starts weak but gets goin n doesnt stop - 3.5
6: first 3 tracks are win, then they just delve off into some generic folk dream - 3
7: a somewhat awkward but still fun release before jari untimely (ahaha) jumped ship, highlights in title, slayer of light, and into battle - 3.5
8: peak melodic/symphonic trv black metal m/ - 4.5
9: certainly the most metallic of their efforts, with bm heaviness being matched evenly to symph elements. still its only decent and only a few moments here and there rly stand out. strange presence is the best of it - 3
15: another great album from the bm korpiklaani but not as distinguished as sophy - 3.5

2: anyway winternight tragedies prob more a 4 avg but its so rare to have such a solid album + the ancients is purest win, so flawless blackened melodeath - 4.5
14: not much to it, doomy/proggy mdeth with random folk effects now and then, highlight in venomous grace - 3
13: a trver but less interesting cof - 3
11: album starts as tolerably cheesy cringe (the good kind), but from star-maps onwards builds into a trv melodic/power bm feast. dreamer in the catacombs to end is a solid slab of epic bm adjacent win - 4
12: hate the crystal clear production. band tries too hard to sound epic and it falls flat. they forget to be trv - 3
10: taking every general bm element and giving it crack. in this case more is less - 3
4: drony prog with bm elements i hate it - 2.5
1: decentish meloblack highlight in paradise beyond - 3 |
