07.31.23 | Very bay sick list I know, mostly predictable.
Yes, it took me getting to 1300 'metal' tagged albums to finally go over the 1000 milestone for 'electronic'. I never would have guessed the gap would be so big, I feel like I've listened to more electronic than metal over the years. Do you always digest 'albums' with electronic? Not so much and there might lie the truth I guess.
Still waiting on 'hip hop', 'country' and I just added a 'sophisti-pop' tag a few weeks ago. 'Country' should get to over 1000 ratings before the year is out...'hip hop' maybe this time next year?....'sophisti-pop' I will probably never find 1000 albums in the genre :/ |

07.31.23 | I'm also sure a lot of people could go all the way back to Kraftwerk through the '80s with electronic albums but tbh I don't know that much before the '90s and also I don't particularly get excited by the 'origins of electronic' stuff as a general rule. |

07.31.23 | No Prodigy, no Underworld, no Flying Lotus, no Burial, no 'Wormhole' from Ed Rush & Optical, no a lot of things - I had to go with the highest rating, no runners up. |

07.31.23 | "...Kraftwerk through the *70s"
And speaking of 70s, check Tangerine Dream |

07.31.23 | I meant to getting to Kraftwerk in the '70s going through the '80s ;)
I like Tangerine Dream - I think my issue was more finding enough electronic albums I knew/liked through the '80s |

Couldn’t live with out my ‘dance’ albums |

07.31.23 | zak I just meant a lot of electronic music you take in outside of the 'full album' format
so maybe half of the electronic music I've listened to has come from listening to albums, whereas for indie or rock or metal that's be much higher, maybe as high as 75% of the time I'm listening to full albums |

07.31.23 | Here’s one of my secret golden recommendations.
An absolute true classic album, definitive 90s that I have on CD, still gets played in the car and is a top 30 of all time is….
Renaissance: Worldwide London
Dave Seaman and Robert Miles.
The Dave Seaman mix is absolute perfection.
Take it or leave it but that is the proper stuff. |
Avagantamos
07.31.23 | the sputnik electronic tag: my arch nemesis |

07.31.23 | If you are somewhat into the meditative/ethereal experience part of ambient music listening, I can highly recommend Pete Namlook's "Seasons Greetings - Autumn". Very immersive as a full piece. |

08.01.23 | 'Take it or leave it but that is the proper stuff.'
