| SOILWORK LP RANKING (carl's version)
i listened to all of Soilwork's shit over the course of a couple days cuz i couldnt stop thinking about baldy (bjorn strid HAHA) and here are my thoughts!!! | 12 | | Soilwork Figure Number Five
this one is backloaded, last 3 songs save the album. shoutout Distortion Sleep for still being an absolute Banger. Overall a very weak album, still good though, just not greatttt | 11 | | Soilwork Stabbing the Drama
a significant jump up from F#5, but still mostly unremarkable. has some good moments. used to jam tf out of Nerve back in high school. Distance is a really good song too | 10 | | Soilwork Overgivenheten
least fave of the "new" soilwork sound. this album sees Soilwork getting reallyy comfy in their comfort zone. no envelope pushing, just by-the-numbers new Soilwork ™️ its also their least heavy, taking a lot more influence from Night Flight Orchestra. still has catchy melodies and songs throughout | 9 | | Soilwork Natural Born Chaos
liked this one slightly better than Drama, its their first serious forray into "radio" melodeath, and a pretty stark style change from Predator's Portrait. had some bangers from this one on my ipod nano, very nostalgic | 8 | | Soilwork Verkligheten
this is basically a better version of Overgivenheten, its a safe album for Soilwork that isnt that heavy but brings the catchy melodies and hooks. Witan is one of my favorite Soilwork songs period | 7 | | Soilwork Steelbath Suicide
such an overlooked debut IMO, this shit is fast and heavy and has riffs and no cleans. fuck yes | 6 | | Soilwork Sworn to a Great Divide
this album is universally considered their worst (well, according to RYM and Sputnikmusic). Why though?? I feel like its the perfect end to their "poppy" radio-friendly metalcore-ish stint (Natural Born Chaos / Figure #5 / Stabbing the Drama) and sees them really branching out and experimenting a bit more, laying the foundations for what'll soon become their signature sound (just listen to that riff in 20 More Miles). people cite production issues, but I didnt feel like it was too bad of a problem. SERIOUSLY underrated album. It used to not click with me but now it does. | 5 | | Soilwork A Predator's Portrait
the first album to introduce Speed's cleans, and done extremely tastefully. feel like they mightve rushed inserting cleans EVERYWHERE after this, but this album is just chefs kiss. the guitarwork here sounds very Living Infinite-y, which kinda just disappears after this. one of their best for sure. | 4 | | Soilwork The Panic Broadcast
is this most slept on Soilwork album ever??? it was for me thats for sure. I was HUGE into soilwork when I was younger, then kinda forgot about em until Living Infinite, so I just completely missed this album and never came back to it. thank god I did again, cuz holyyyy shit this one is GOOOOOOD. its legit the prequel to Living Infinite, not just cuz its directly before it, but because this is where Soilwork really created that new sound of theirs.
also lol at top 4 being all their albums starting with "the" | 3 | | Soilwork The Chainheart Machine
Soilwork basically took Steelbath Suicide and made it even more melodic and heavy and tight as fuck. NO CLEAN SINGING. i feel like with Living Infinie and Ride Majestic, people often overlook their early catalogue, especially this one. Top 3 Soilwork albums of all time right here, and by far the best album of their first 6 releases. | 2 | | Soilwork The Ride Majestic
The Living Infinite pt. 2. just a more bite-size version of it, really. tied for first yea | 1 | | Soilwork The Living Infinite
not the most controversial take, but this is peak Soilwork. one of the most unique sounding bands in the subgenre, every song on this album is a hit, and thats saying something cuz its long as dick! after listening to the entire discography i can still say this album is my favorite (well along with Ride Majestic, its honestly a tie between the two but this one takes the cake cuz of the ambitiousness of it being a double album). | |

not that anyone cares but Overgivenheten is growing on me more and more and probably deserves to be higher. |
