Most of the tracks are twice as long as they need to be on initial inspection, argh! I’m sure this closer is the least eventful 8 min song I’ve ever heard 😄 A couple of tracks did show some promise, we’ll see… (my review will be of ‘slightly higher quality’ than this comment… but still, let’s keep expectations low)

Demon of the Fall 02.08.23	noob reviewer technical Q: I take it one can review a release with score x and then simply change their rating afterwards to score y? ...I don't necessarily believe in objectivity, but maybe it would be fair to make a minor adjustment of +0.5 (because my own personal rating scale is quite harsh for the Sput realm)

Trifolium 02.08.23	I've done this before. For instance initially thinking an album was a 3.5, thus writing a 3.5 review, yet the album grew on me afterwards and it is now a 4.0 for me personally (the review still says 3.5). Don't think that is a bad thing, you can't really prevent that.

Trifolium 02.08.23	Ah OK, I understand what you mean now. I personally never do that, but I guess it depends on what you think the purpose of a review is. If you want your review to represent your opinion of /experiences with /enjoyment of a record, I think awarding different ratings does not make sense. To me, this seems the most natural way of writing a review. It can also involve some background info, some info on how influential or singular it was, but it is mainly opinion-driven. If you want to try and place the record in context without showing any personal preferences/enjoyment whatsoever, solely trying to connect it to how influential it was/is, it might make sense to use separate ratings from the start. I feel it is very difficult to write a review in this manner though. A mixture of the two makes most sense to me, but as I said, I've never used this two-different-ratings approach from the get go.

I suppose taking my current example, it isn't a difference of opinion or perspective between my own subjectivity (or attempting to be objective), necessarily. I was merely looking to re-adjust my rating scale for the purpose of reviewing, because Sput has a tendency to over-inflate scores and thus calling this one 'average' feels unfair in the context of the website maybe I should just care less about Sput's ways and do whatever, I'm probably being too 'accommodating'

Then speech marks for track names. It probably just aids readability. I'm not sure if there is actually a widely accepted 'correct' way of formatting.

Sinternet 03.20.23	i literally did real-world research asking my portuguese friend about it trying to get a good angle and he was like yeah its ok i have currently 400 words written and had them for a month, there's just very little to say about it when it's cultural significance (of which any source i can find claims to be significant) is kinda lost on me, both through a language barrier and a lack of cultural knowledge surrounding it. ive been on and off adding bits over the last month but its kinda draining. regardless i'll get their eventually, but man even though i like the album and am glad i heard it i could have cranked out any other album on this list in a couple days max
