| 7 songs - New German Hardcore
"New German Hardcore" is my loose translation of "Neue Deutsche Härte", which translates directly and uncomfortably as "New German Hardness."
I'm monolingual, so I don't know what they're saying. And I'm glad for it, because I get distracted by crappy lyrics, so I can listen to songs in German unconditionally. This is unlike, say, the Power Metal band Powerwolf, whose music I LOVE, but whose lyrics sadly reduce the songs I can tolerate to only a dozen or so. It pisses me off; I really wish they'd sing more songs in German or Romanian.
But these tracks aren't Power Metal: | 1 | Exfeind Gottergatte | 2 | Eisbrecher Verruckt | 3 | Lindemann Blut | 4 | Maerzfeld Zweifel | 5 | Ost+Front Ikarus | 6 | Megaherz Gott Sein - SUICIDE COMMANDO REMIX
Johan Van Roy (Suicide Commando) turns almost everthing he remixes to gold, in my opinion. But it might be too electro for some fans of the genre. The originial, more metallic version is OK, but there's better Megaherz tracks. | 7 | OOMPH! Labyrinth | |

10.31.22 | Good list. Do you know the band Hämatom? | kildare
10.31.22 | Haven't heard of Hamatom, but thanks for the rec. I'll check them out for sure. This last year I've finally been breaking out and giving the other NGH bands more time. (BTW, is there a BBCode for the umlaut? I bet I've missed a few in making this list and the review!) | TheSupernatural
10.31.22 | I'll always recommend The Hirsch Effekt. Not sure if that's quite the same genre but they slap | kildare
10.31.22 | I checked out the Hirsch Effekt. Yeah, I guess they're, like, Metalcore? (I'm an obsessive genre-splitter). I think the drummer of that band might get bored if he got hired to play for one of the above bands. He's used to more complicated patterns, from the sounds of it. Thanks for the rec though! I'd never heard them. I've been listening to Rammstein for decades, so it's not weird anymore, but it's weird to hear The Hirsch Effekt's music (Metalcore) in German! |
