There's stuff I like, even in slam/deathcore, but over half the time even the ones that get a lot of love tend to just sound annoying
other than that it's basically any thrash/death/black metal record with more lo-fi production. production in those tend to get in the way of my listening experience, but I wouldn't really call that bad, since they do seem to have their audience they cater to |

The original nu metal sound (Adrenaline-Around the Fur), the more ethereal and experimental sounds on the next few, and then Diamond Eyes kinda solidified what they sound like now. Koi is legit one of my favorite albums ever. |

There's some stuff that's not the typical European power metal that you would probably like more considering you seem to like Queensryche. Maybe check stuff like Crimson Glory or Helstar, see if you like them. |
