mynameischan 09.16.22	I am surprised and kind of pleased that Michael is so low. I’ve never understood the intense love for that song (Sowing puts it at #1 I think). Also happy to see Cities of the Plain relatively high.
MeatSalad 09.16.22	Michael is kind of messy / somehow too short but I think it's still in their top 20 or so. The atmosphere of the song is amazing

DadKungFu 09.16.22	Johnny, always felt like Seven Sisters was almost the opposite of bleak, more of a poetic and implicit way to say that "I do not exist/only you exist" line. Is there an element of despair in the suicide line? Sure, but only because the distractions of everything ephemeral in the world are so overwhelming that forgetting what's really important to Aaron here is driving him to that despair idk I'm rambling but mwY lyrics get me going
mynameischan 09.16.22	Yeah sowing I certainly appreciate the thematic relevance of the song but the sound is just pretty impenetrable to me
ashcrash9 09.16.22	I myself was kinda surprised to have so many Catch songs so high but I think its highlights act stronger as standalone songs than most of the highlights from their other peak albums (Brother Sister, Pale Horses, and Ten Stories imo) which are sequenced and conceptually threaded in ways that make a big picture relationship with the record overall important. Tried to weigh that element as I felt fit but it’s all pretty arbitrary. Truly a testament to this band’s versatility and consistency that even songs I’d personally rank in the back half of their catalogue I totally understand could be revelatory for others.
Gyromania 09.16.22	rainbow signs is overrated and honestly pale horse does the melody so much better. i still think it's great and same goes for michael, but they always seem to crack the top 10 on best of lists and i don't get it. son of a widow is incredible and for sure one of their best closers. bear's vision would be much closer to the top 10 on my list, king beetle would prob be #1

Gyromania 09.16.22	Rainbow signs is definitely beautiful, I just wish the climax was a bit more intense and I really like how sunken into the mix the vocals sound in pale horse
