2022 = best year for music

Basically in like a decade.
13Slowbleed
The Blazing Sun, A Fiery Dawn
12Corpsegrinder
Corpsegrinder

I have such a soft spot for this man. I don't think this will break my top 5 of the year, but tbh I'll prob jam it more than most albums this year because this dude makes such fun music.
11Amorphis
Halo

So. Goddamn. Consistent.
10Slipknot
We Are Not Your Kind

I've been listening to them since they released their debut, and We Are Not Your Kind is probably my favorite, as unpopular as that opinion is. Cannot wait for whatever they have in store for us this year.
9Kreator
Hate Über Alles

Thrash legends, still releasing some of the best in the game.
8Crowbar
Zero And Below

This band makes me want to eat meat and grow my beard. They never stop crushing skulls, some of the best sludge in the game.

This World is Going to Ruin You

Their debut is still on my constant gym rotation, so I listen to a song or two every day. Hoping they bring that fierce energy to this one. If they do, I'll be listening to this for years to come.
6Porcupine Tree
Closure/Continuation

The hype is through the roof for this one.
5Immolation
Acts Of God

I mean, it's Immolation for God's sake. Can't wait to see them in March m///
4Blood Incantation
Timewave Zero

Their first two albums are among my favorites in recent death metal.
3Cult of Luna
The Long Road North

I actually JUST started listening to this band yesterday, so I haven't fully absorbed them but on first listen, the albums I have listened to are right up my alley and I foresee them being a new future favorite band of mine. Their most recent album kicks a crazy amount of ass, and I'm pumped to hear this/the rest of their discog
2Rolo Tomassi
Where Myth Becomes Memory

This took a few spins, but every single time I have listened to this it gets astronomically better. It's hard to listen to new music because of how ridiculously good this is. I'm predicting this will be my #2
1Meshuggah
Immutable

As some of you know, this has been my favorite band of all time for about two decades now. They never fail, and I am guessing this is gonna be AOTY for me out of my own (correct) bias.
