ConcubinaryCode 10.21.21	Yeah, Alan wake gets so much love and I just don't get it. It's mechanically fine, writing is ok though it can get kh tier with its darkness shtick. The collectibles spoil the game ahead of time and I get its supposed to be like "whoa you're in the book of your making!" But it's still kinda lame and uninteresting.
beefshoes 10.21.21	I feel embarrassed to admit that I'm almost 28 and I've never once played a Quake game. Anyway, I enjoyed reading your lists.
MrSirLordGentleman 10.21.21	I really enjoyed Alan Wake when it was released. The gameplay is certainly a little bit basic but, as you said, the lightning mechanic is interesting. I really like the Twin Peaks'esque atmosphere to it and while the plot isn't a masterpiece I think it is still pretty good. It certainly felt a like a cool change of mood back when most major games tried to be Modern Warfare
Shuyin 10.21.21	I grew up playing Quake on the Saturn, it's all chunky but still a lot of fun. When I finally tried the PC version it was almost shocking how good it was, fast and relentless, just how every FPS should be. Also, IMO the map design in Quake is peak ID, never a dull moment, the only bad thing about Quake is the bad "boss" fights.. I hope they bring this franchise back, give it the Doom treatment, I'm down
Trebor. 10.21.21	yeah I first played Quake on N64 and wasn't impressed with it I really hope they make a new one
MrSirLordGentleman 10.21.21	I'd say TF2 keeps the flame alive for old school online shooters, but Valve left 4 dead the poor game bad pun intended
ConcubinaryCode 10.21.21	They tried that quake champions type game a while back but it never took off. This was around when lawbreakers was still a thing if you can remember that.
Shuyin 10.21.21	old school shooters are making a comeback with games like Dusk and Ion Maiden, awesome stuff
MrSirLordGentleman 10.21.21	here's hoping for the new System Shock and Half Life 3 (my hopes are back after Alyx) to bring old school story focused shooters back
Trebor. 10.21.21	You guys should check out gunfire reborn, it's like a co-op boomer shooter mixed with borderlands and it's a roguelike. I play it all the time and it's going into 1.0 next month
protokute 10.21.21	I actually really like Alan Wake??? It's been a long time I haven't replayed it, but I remember feeling very captivated by the whole setting and atmosphere, and didn't mind the kind of repetitive combat. Anyone else hyped for the next Forza Horizon? I've really loved the english countryside setting on 4 and had a lot of fun with it, Horizon seems to be the only series that still keep me engaged on the racing genre that once had a really big place on my liking for games
MrSirLordGentleman 10.22.21	"Anyone else hyped for the next Forza Horizon? " I think I'll pass on it. The car list looks really boring for me. I'm not a big fan of modern super cars. I'm more into 80's and 90's stuff and besides the DeLorean, SC300 and XJR15 there are none of those new. The map also seems to be too off road focused now I'm hyped for the next Motorsport game though, car lists are better on those ones and it is rumoured it might come in a new game engine

Anthracks 10.22.21	this month i played samurai warriors 5, sackboy, metroid dread, blasphemous, warioware, bloodstained curse of the moon 2 and i've been slowly working on skyward sword hd but it's such a bother
Storm In A Teacup 10.22.21	I wish I could play the ps1 digimon game
Storm In A Teacup 10.22.21	I tried out The Long Dark earlier this month and put in probably 40 hours on the game. Only survival mode, made it to 50+ days twice, still alive in the second run. Game came out years ago but they just released episode 4 of the story mode this month.

Storm In A Teacup 10.22.21	i downloaded 7 zip and so i could extract the game whatever that means then i downloaded the 7zip download of the game. but then at configure it i needed to download something and to type this or that in my favorite web browser then i hit next and have no idea what i was supposed to download.

protokute 10.22.21	with 7 zip you could just extract the files mounted in iso to a folder. @Forza Horizon Yea, I don't know if I'll dig the Mexico setting as much... And as for the cars I honestly don't pay much attention to that, curious to see how the new tuning will be like

Trebor. 10.22.21	boomer shooter is in line with the 30 year old boomer meme. Video games are a new medium and a generation in gaming is like 7 years
ConcubinaryCode 10.22.21	I think the 30 year thing is more about our nostalgia kicking in as we look back fondly with the memories with those games. It also coincidently when remakes of those games happen.
