HURRY, LIMITED OPPORTUNITY

Rules are simple. List will be open for 180 seconds. Any album recc'd I will check.

This collection of tracks is fantastic, I listened to the bands full discography on YouTube, as they weren't on Spotify. Love the interplay between the male and female vocals, something you wouldn't expect of 80s hardcore crust anarcho-punk. It has a harder Crass feel, or an earlier Leftover Crack sound. I'm glad PSJ recc'd me this, going to explore all the members of the bands other projects now.

2Ween
GodWeenSatan: The Oneness

ArsMoriendi

The crazy manic, magical, eclectic debut album by Ween. I've heard this album a few times before, but not in a long time, so was great fun to revisit. Something to ponder... Why is ArsMoriendi's persona on Sputnik the complete opposite of this album.

How much of the album did I listen to? 100%
Will I listen again. Yup, won't wait as long next time.
Final Rating. 4.5
3Abruptum
Obscuritatem Advoco Amplectere Me

TheSpirit

Initials thoughts when I searched this album was, only 2 songs long, which soon became 2 long songs.
As I stated listening, I wanted to black out the sun, take a couple shots of absynth, and let the devil into my soul. This is some dark music, perfect for Halloween. I listened to a majority of each song, and found the sounds, instruments completely in disarray, like I was in a sacrificial chamber, it kinda works, but not as music, if that makes any sense.

How much of the album did I listen to? 60%, this is a hard listen if you aren't in the mood for invoking your inner daemon.
Will I listen again. Probably, maybe in the dead of winter, or at a Halloween party.
Initial rating. 2.5

A New Bohemia

Shuyin

Now that is one weird album cover, is it a horse biting it's own tail?
This had potential, but would have been better performed in Finnish. The lyrics, like other European non English speaking bands, just don't cut it. The vocals are also a little too clean. Musically it is great and the song structures are on point, but it's hard for me to get past the vocal delivery.

How much of the album did I listen to? 100%
Will I listen again? Yeah, I'll give it another go, maybe I'll grow to like the vocals, the rest of album is stellar.
Temporary rating. 3.5, this could change on later listens
5PJ Harvey
To Bring You My Love

ArsMoriendi

PJ hey? Listened to her on and off over the years, but never delved deep. Gave this one a good spin, but found myself skipping tracks. I'll need to revisit at a later date, just couldn't get into it today.

How much of the album did I listen to? 25%
Will I listen again? Reluctantly yes, I feel I owe it to myself, and Ars, and PJ to give it another go.
Initial rating. 2.5, but too early to judge
6Big Moe
City of Syrup

Drifter

What can I say about Big Moe apart from the dude loved himself some slurp.
First Time checking him, and yeah it's pretty good. Great flow, production and delivery. Wasn't a big fan of the skits or some of the choruses, and I need someone to explain to me what he's rapping about half the time, but yeah I can get into this. His deep vocals, slow style raps and smooth singing is refreshing.

How much did I listen to? 75%
Will I listen again? Yeah, gotta finish the album
Initial rating. 3.5
7Life of Agony
Broken Valley

Storm in a teacup

This album sounds familiar, but I've never heard of it before. It has 90s grungy/alt metal written all over it. At times I hear Some Temple Pilots, then I get some desert rock.
Just checked and this band has been around since the 90s, I've never heard them before, and the singer transitioned to female. I need to check their latest release. At the time of this album Mina's voice was great, interesting to hear her now she has transitioned. The album still holds up well today, but if it came out 25 years ago it would have been a classic.

How much I listened to? 100%
Will I check again? A big yes, i already want to listen again, and explore their new sound
Final rating. 4
