03.31.21 | So nearly any of those on the runners up could have made the top 10 really, so the strongest selection since 2000 at least I'm thinking.
Fleet Foxes and War on Drugs picks only made the top 10 on last minute re-listens - in particular 'The Shrine / An Argument' really amazed me, arguably the Foxes best song ever? |

03.31.21 | tasty list, smother being all the way back in 2011 is a shocker though |

03.31.21 | yup, ten year anniversary - time is flying |

03.31.21 | Great top 4, some great ones in the runners up as well! |
DoofDoof
03.31.21 | Cheers Boney - what are your thoughts on that Fleet Foxes tune? |
Trifolium
03.31.21 | 2011 was one of the best years in music this millennium. |
theBoneyKing
03.31.21 | Doof, that's one of my favorites on the album for sure. That one is pretty much the peak of "progressive" Fleet Foxes. |

03.31.21 | 2011 was cray |

03.31.21 | 2011 was pretty much the year I first really got into music, very formative. |

03.31.21 | 2011 was probably my first real foray into indie stuff. Before that, I was big on metal, hip-hop and 00s emo/alternative stuff. I think I had only really listened to the first iron and wine album and MGMT before 2011. I remember pickin up these m83, fleet foxes and war on drugs albums based on sput reception lol. So 2011 was very formative for me as well. Wait is such a perfect song. |
DoofDoof
03.31.21 | ‘Wait’ is perfect, I do like some others on that album but overall not such a fan of their other stuff
I’d like to say the 2012 selection will be as good as this, and I’ve been re-listening to some songs from that year the last 24 hours...but it is a drop down again. 2011 was a standout year |

03.31.21 | I know 2012 will at least have Shields by Grizzly Bear, that album is very fond in my memory and hopefully you attached to that as well. |

03.31.21 | 2013 is the big year |
DoofDoof
04.01.21 | 2013 is definitely better than 2012 - I can guarantee that.
Still think 2011 > 2013 |

04.01.21 | Where the absolute fuck is Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People? |
DoofDoof
04.01.21 | you're like a sniffer dog for this stuff |

04.01.21 | Perhaps I am too mainstream? |
DoofDoof
04.01.21 | Added to your 17% black metal pie chart makes for an intriguing combo for sure |
CaliggyJack
04.01.21 | I like all genres. There isn't a single one I don't like.
Black Metal just tends to get a lot more discussion on here so I tend to rate them. There are a lot of other more mainstream albums I just forget to rate so they're not on here. |

04.07.21 | This is probably our biggest year for overlap. 1, 3, 5, and 9 would all be in consideration for my 2011 list. |
Koris
04.07.21 | ^ For sure. Honestly, I can think of a bunch of songs on Bon Iver's s/t and Helplessness Blues that could make the cut... absolutely fantastic records |
DoofDoof
04.07.21 | Both of those are classic albums agreed
Interesting 2011 was out biggest time of overlap Sowing, think that makes sense |
