Trifolium 03.16.21	Checking the Mammal Hands now! I remember listening to some of their other stuff and kind of enjoying them, but for some reason I never explored them further. That... Starts... NOW! Also rellik could you perhaps add a third entry in the list with the spreadsheet link? Trifolium 03.16.21	j/ for suuuuuure! Some of the busier moments (Rhizome for instance) are not entirely to my tastes, a little too saturated and anxiety inducing, but overall this is a wonderful record.

Trifolium 03.16.21	For sure! And usually I can take that pretty well (Ascension, Bitches Brew, all of Indigo Jam Unit), but sometimes it gets a little too dense. Perhaps it has to do with the busy piano. Going to take a short break from this and then on with Sons Of Kemet!
Demon of the Fall 03.16.21	Sons of Kemet is better than I remember, especially the faster instrumental bits. The busier parts of ‘Harriet‘ / ‘Angela’ are very pleasing. However I don’t care for the vocals and some of the slower segments are just sort of ‘there’ (perfectly passable by themselves, but they don’t really add anything in the context of the album). P.S. I need to check Ascension, I intended to the other week but didn’t get that far.
Trifolium 03.16.21	It's pretty intense, but I love it! The alternation between ensemble and solos is so tastefully done and makes for a super nice diversity yet a strong sense of unity. It really is quite stunning. And a lot of noise and chaos. That too.
Pangea 03.16.21	1 is really nice, definitely captured the spirit of the sea very nice. I really liked the dyanmics and the quiet stuff was super lovely

bgillesp 03.18.21	Relistened to Sons of Kemet today. It’s most defining feature for me by far is how rhythmically driven it is. The drums are the core of every song except for a few scattered moments where the other instruments truly take the lead. Quite a refreshing change of pace when we are used to thinking about sax/piano/trumpet or rarely bass as the leading instruments

Trifolium 03.19.21	I liked Kemet, despite not being entirely in the mood for the dancy sound it is going for. Party mode. Etc. It certainly is cool, some of the quieter moments were super nice. See album discussion. Can't wait for next week 💕💥😍🎺✨✨✨
Pangea 03.19.21	the percussion on 2 is definitely a showtopper. absolutely incredible. love 2 in general
bgillesp 03.20.21	Mammal Hands was more like a post-rock album with a hint of jazz color. Really liked it a lot though. Wish I had found out about it before the year ended since it was a 2020 release.
