02.05.21 | I’ve been thinking as to why Oldpeth is so much better than Newpeth. I like both, but Oldpeth is so much more expansive. Can go from the softest ambient rock with clean vocals to some of the heaviest Desth metal with deep brutal vocals in a second. The musical shifts are extreme and frequent in Oldpeth. And that chasm between the two styles is what pulls you in, the vast difference between light and dark, or soft and harsh. Newpeth has some of those transitions, but w/o the harsh vocals they have little or less effect. |

02.05.21 | The magnitude of change, and the speed at which it occurs, and the technical effectiveness at making that change in Oldpeth is unlike any other progressive metal band out there. There are also some flavors and flourishes weaved into Newpeth that, although novel and interesting, just don’t work as well. Also, Newpeth doesn’t have a Martin Lopez, who adds a lot of drum mastery. |

02.05.21 | I see no problem w/ that honestly |

02.06.21 | Damnation is an honorable mention;although relatively subdued,it is better than most Newpeth. |
