Am OGD(eftones) since 1996, just after Adrenaline came out and when Teething was on The Crow - City of Angels soundtrack. Proud to have witnessed the start of nu-metal, with Korn and Deftones, and its demise; as well as Deftones rising from the ashes and inventing their own unique, progressive, alternative metal style. Also have delved into each of Chino Moreno's side bands over the years. |

Downloaded this off Napster back in 1996. A lot of the early Adrenaline tracks were on here, but also a lot of fluff. Not the best starting album. |

This and 12 are pretty interchangeable. Somehow both just miss the mark. It's like a critical dynamic is missing. Perhaps some infusion of "heavy" as a texture and they would have been excellent. But as is - too weak and uninteresting. |

This would be higher, if it didn't have the acoustic renderings of White Pony tracks - and instead pulled in the early b-sides Teething and Can't Even Breathe, and the cover To Have and To Hold. As several of these songs on the Covers LP, this kinda covers it too. |

What a mix of post rock/metal and Chino's vocal stylings. Not a huge fan when I first bought it, but this is a steady and strong grower. |

I'm digging this album, but unlike my favorite Deftones albums - there are some strong and weak tracks on this album. The strong tracks (Urantia, The Spell of Mathematics, Ohms) are incredible though. |

I honestly cannot see what people dislike about this album. I think it is superb. So superb that I don't even realize Jerry Cantrell's guest spot as the album flows so well. I think the reason it is disliked has nothing to do with the album itself, but because Stephen Carpenter bombed/tanked it before it even came out. |

Around the Fur
