10.12.20 | I still have to listen to tropical fuck storm @porc but they chose my favorite Brooklyn live band, Gustaf, to open for them at elsewhere. Gustaf just released their debut single and while I don’t think it’s their best work (1. It’s the worst song of their set; 2. They unfortunately stuck with one of their less good rotating drummers), it might be worth checking out...with an amazing drummer (Rosie Slater) they RIP live tho. TFS sounds great too, gotta listen to Laughing Death |

10.14.20 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khsmqy76PnY
cool PBS video detailing the history and aesthetics of noise music with the intention of resuscitating the influence of minoritized musicians, particularly black musicians, featuring the contributions of brooklyn's dreamcrusher. and unlike pitchfork's "MUSIC itself wouldnt be the SAME without AVRIL LAVIGNE's LET GO (2003)" posturing it feels historically responsible. sort of reminds me of my professor of 20th century music george lewis and his approach |
