American Beast
I had heard of this band - apparently they were one of the big Sacramento bands back in the early days of Deftones and Far. A decent album. But whoever allowed "Suck it Down" to be recorded needs to be reprimanded. 08.15.20 | the majority of my cd/vhs/dvd/vinyl collection came from thriftstores or a record stores '$1 budget' section. last week i got the wwf soundtrack volume 2, chocalate starfish and hotdog flavored water, new orders technique, some crust band called resist and exist, random alt country called o'death, fun loving criminals, and funeral by arcade fire. on the other hand i got some slam in the mail, and i tend to buy cds at concerts aswell | Assemblage

08.16.20 | BAT, I'm with u - love those budget sections - have found many a "treasure" there over the years. Assemblage, Fire from the Sky sounds like a mix of The War WIthin musically and their earlier albums vocally (e.g. Of One Blood). | ReturnToRock

08.17.20 | i'm from maryland/borderline suburbs of dc, in recent years i've slacked off a bit but it's gotten harder to find any gems. thrift stores back in the 00s had like 5 vhs tapes for a dollar and a designated asile, nowadays its a shelf of like batman/sisteract/independance day for like 3bucks a pop. some of my favorite spots are library bookstores, generally stocked with donated collections and like 25cents for anything. i have a boatload of 90s music, today i snagged one of the first dir en grey dvds | JDubb

08.17.20 | Sharkattack, no. I am a bit of an audiophile - can’t stand the scratchy Background noise of vinyl. Why record something high quality/ high resolution Digital and dump it on a subpar media. It’s worse than a 128 kB/s mp3. Lived thru tapes too - they sucked. |
