Real talk
I'm Jeffery bigglestein
Also I feel very out of touch with the site these days and I'm sorry to all the new users who just come across as npc's or new iterations of snide that probably aren't actually snide I'm a bit out of touch these are good albums tho so jam them |
| 1 | | Havukruunu Uinuos Syömein Sota
Good fuck this is good. Galloping, stormy black metal that tosses between trudging riffs, glistening melodies and pure catharsis that razes all in sight. Brings the OOMF. |
| 2 | | Weakling Dead as Dreams
I'm wayyyy late on this and definitely gotta jam it more but damn this rules. The semi rasps/howls nail a perfect sweet spot where they feel sincere but not quite at the zany over the topness of some dsbm vocals. |
| 3 | | Archspire Relentless Mutation
This is fast. Really fast. But also it is good. 2/10 |
| 4 | | Turnpike Troubadours Diamonds and Gasoline
Really out of field but honestly I have a lil soft spot for true and earnest country. Just good for drinking cheap beers to by a campfire yanno |
| 5 | | Nile Those Whom the Gods Detest
First dm album I ever heard aside from I think Labyrinth by Fleshgod Apocalypse? Definitely helped form my affinity for themed metal acts cause when I first heard the t/t my puny 16 year old brain nearly rolled out of my skull. Tbh I dont think I ever retrieved it. |
| 6 | | System of a Down System of a Down
I have to thank a good work friend for my rediscovered love for System of a Down. I really forgot how much I loved the absurd zaniness of shit like "Suite Pee" or "Sugar", or the melancholic beasts like "Spiders". Sometimes a band really does make it hard for a reason, even if SOAD will never make a song as good as Bad Bad Girlfriend by Theory of a Dead Guy |
| 7 | | Gallows Grey Britain
Another new(ish) discovery for me. Very gritty, absolutely pissed, and resplendent with good riffs. Also the orchestral parts are oddly nice. |
