| Thousand Foot Krutch Ranked
TFK was a band I listened to a lot growing up, which is something that is common when you were not allowed to have "Non-christian music" in the house. Anyways recently I decided to do a discography run of them for that reason and to see how good these albums are now, and how well they hold up for me. It had a while since I heard a TFK album in full (I would say a few years, heck I will make the case I have not heard a song from them in a long time either.) | 10 | | Thousand Foot Krutch That's What People Do
Oh boy, this album is a heresy with how bad it is. It's like being memory wiped after going through a medieval torture chamber. This was just painfully boring to sit through. I really don't have anything to say about this other than avoid this and any song associated with this album (Aka spoiler alert, the set it off version of these songs also suck!)
1/5 | 9 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Set It Off (Remastered)
Doing the re-issue as that was the copy I was listing to growing up. This is an interesting case as its an album that is actively competing for a 1! You thought the "puppet" and "intro" were decent? Just wait till you hear how bad Trevers rapping is! Do you think rapping is bad? just wait till you hear the Christian Filtered cover of "Unbelievable"! On the original release, this album had around half of its tracklist from the debut, but on the re-release, the whole debut is here! The remasters here are not really much of a remaster and some of the remasters can be argued are worse! The album is such a chore to get through it feels like it never ends, it just goes "GOES ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON!" Congrats TFK! You Win!
1/5 | 8 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Phenomenon
This album has aged like sour milk out in the desert for 20 years. The balled here is so corny with how over-sentimental it is and other songs are trying way too hard to be pump up songs,("RAWKFIST" I can only facepalm at now). The only positive I can say about this is "Phenomenon" and some elements of "I climb" and the last 3 songs. But as a whole, this album is just D tier Nu Metal
1.5/5 | 7 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Oxygen: Inhale
More like "Oxygen:Nitequill", am I right? This does not even sound like TFK, sounds like more there was a scrapped FM static album, so they threw in 3 rock songs and put the TFK name on it and BAM! new album. This album the band is in such a loss of their own Identity that they start doing pale imitations of Coldplay ("Set Me On Fire"), and Taylor Swift ("Light Up"). Look its not an issue of a band changing their sound, its that here it just sounds so painfully autopilot that this album could self drive a car.
1.5/5 | 6 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Exhale
Its an improvement over part 1(this time there are 3 good songs instead of 2!) but it's still not very good! The songs blend together and the worst aspect of Nu-metal TFK (aka the lyrics) are sprinkled in there. with some songs like "Born this way" having lyrics so bad, I was shocked the lyrics were not written by Family "Crunk 4 CHRIST" Force 5. You are better off taking the best songs from the album ("Lifeline", "Running With Giants", "Incomplete" and the best buy exclusive track "when the river flows") and giving the rest of the album a pass
2/5 | 5 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Metamorphosiz: The End Remixes, Vol. I & II
Part 1 is nothing special, just remixes for the homecoming dances of Christian schools(or as background music for the Dove Awards), part 2 does strick out more and does have a bit more variety and creativity. Other than that, I really Cannot say anything else other than its a Remix album
2.5/5 | 4 | | Thousand Foot Krutch The Flame in All of Us
Oh jeez, this album is mediocre. I mean nothing stood out as terrible but most of the album just blends together. Some of the songs individually do have some neat concepts but the album has this copy and Paste syndrome that just prevents some of those ideas coming out. "Falls Apart" is still a very good song and easily the best on the album (I think it just because of how much the song stands out from the rest of the album)
2.5/5 | 3 | | Thousand Foot Krutch The Art of Breaking
This is the best TFK album in terms of the guitar work. This album was the release that saw them ditching their "Sunday school-friendly Limp Buskit" Style in favor of a more straightforward rock sound and it works really well here. There are some songs that do feel a bit too similar to one another, however. Other than that this matured release from TFK is one that is one that for sure worth hearing "Move" "Hurt" "Absolute" and "The Art Of Breaking" are the strongest cuts of the album.
3/5 | 2 | | Thousand Foot Krutch Welcome to the Masquerade (Fan Edition)
This one I was expecting to put at the top, and it is still a good album, That is where what we remember is not always what it seems, as there are a few problems. "E for Extinction" and "Watching Over Me" are the weaker songs on the album and "Fire It Up" (aka Rawkfist 2.0) and "Forward Motion" are rather mediocre. The pros here do by far exceed the cons, from a lyrical standpoint this is the best album (though some could argue that is not saying much) and the instrumental is pretty great throughout! Putting the fan version here because those bonus tracks are worth checking out, and do make the album better!
4/5 | 1 | | Thousand Foot Krutch The End Is Where We Begin
This was a pleasant surprise to me, I didn't expect this to top it for me, but here we are. A lot of the best parts of the band are showcased here and the minor annoyances (EX. some of the lyrics) are minimal and did not hinder the enjoyment of this. The album is well-paced with the more rock songs being a combination of the Good aspects of "Phenomenon" and "Set It Off" with "Welcome to The Masquerade". The Ballads here are also strong and are among the top in the whole band's catalog.

04.29.20 | This is a strange ranking. Phenomenon a 1.5? The End a 4.5 when that has arguably the most cringe-worthy moments of their whole discog? Agree with the ratings for everything else though. 2 > 8 then whatever. | Emim
04.29.20 | Nothing past The Flame in All of Us is worth your time, imo. Also Phenomenon is great when taken in the context of the time. | grannypantys
04.29.20 | a list I never thought i would see
all the cool kids bumped 8 back in the day | davezillaMP3
04.29.20 | Honestly Lucman, I was really pleasantly surprised with The End. I was going into this discography run thinking that was the album I was going to be cringing at myself for liking, but i think i might enjoy it now more then I did in my adolescence. It turns out Phenomenon was the album that be like that for me (I played it on repeat non-stop for a few years) and man, the cringe hit hard thought my listen of it. I would argue "set It Off" and inhale/exhale have the most cringe inducing moments from the band, then again...Trevor is not exactly the best lyricist ... | davezillaMP3
04.29.20 | I think that is one of the thinks that hurts the album Emim, It sounds super dated (I mean its not AS bad as albums from other Nu-metal albums from 2001-2003, but that bar is so low you could make a drop tuning with it). | davezillaMP3
04.29.20 | Oh yeah Granny, also if you pulled up with Skillets "Awake" into the youth group too you were legit! | Lucman
04.30.20 | That's fair. Neither of them I'd rate above a 3 today. WTTM was one of the albums that got me into heavy rock music so there's some nostalgia there. Inhale/Exhale is the sound of a band running on fumes and we haven't heard from em since. | Lucman
04.30.20 | But man, this kinda takes me back. Albums I was bumping in my youth, apart from Phenomenon and WTTM were Kutless' Hearts of the Innocent, Toby Mac's Portable Sounds, House Of Heroes' The End Is Not The End, and Sanctus Real's Fight The Tide. CCM was rockin back in the day. It's an utter snooze today. | davezillaMP3
04.30.20 | I think they need to do another crowdfunding campaign for another album, that is how inhale/exhale was founded, and to be fair their were holes of CCM back then that are way more exposed and open now (not just the music, but the industry as a whole), but that a whole other topic for another time and one that is not really one that proteins to tfk. The great christian bands today (like imho TDWP) are hated in Christian circles | Lucman
04.30.20 | That's it, CCM is a VERY closed off industry today. Back then you could be ambiguous, you could sing utter nonsense, and folks would accept it without question. But over the last ten years I watched as people began shunning artists who didn't mention God in every song. So now bands like TDWP and Norma Jean just aren't accepted anymore. | ReturnToRock
04.30.20 | GET READY FOR THE SMAAAACK DOOOOOOWN! | davezillaMP3
04.30.20 | Its also for political reasons too, I am not going to go too in depth with it but, as we all know CCM is a very conservative click (some "music festivals" are very much conservative propaganda I will say), and the fact that TDWP are outspoken liberals does make a lot of people really upset. Their is also the fact that TDWP have cussed live before but...everyone even Skillet have cussed on camera so i don't think TDWP needs to have the christian version of being canceled. | davezillaMP3
