DoofDoof 12.16.19	DDD - nice, this year I listened to the most wide ranging stuff and just the most albums in total. Probably 60+ metal albums and that's not usual at all lol, but I found some stuff I really liked There's maybe ten metal albums I'd rate 70% (or there abouts) that just missed the list (Mayhem, Falls of Rauros, Mesarthim, Mgła, etc) but I maybe was trying to balance out genres a bit in those lower scores.

DoofDoof 12.16.19	tect - the Red River Dialect is a great folk album, a little Talk Talk vibe in there in places Boney - I'll put up my decade list soon, but because I've done the best songs of the decade list with descriptions I'm thinking I'll just post one similar to this. I think everyone's heard my opinions on most every album that'll feature on it. So posting my decade list will be as quick and easy as this. Don't leave us waiting until mid-2020 for a decade list...! Just smash out the 2019 lists this year I'm thinking and deliver the decade one early 2020
theBoneyKing 12.16.19	I’m in the opposite boat where I haven’t done a lot of major blurb writing in the past (hell I didn’t even post a 2018 AOTY list) and I haven’t yet started writing any blurbs and I’m generally very busy so it will be a while, I also haven’t revisited many albums either. Plus there are still a lot of outstanding 2010s albums I really should have heard by now... What I’ll probably start doing is writing a blurb or two a day for albums that will definitely make the decade list but at that rate it won’t be up till March earliest. I’m fine with that though, it’s a marathon not a sprint, you do only get to do a decade list once in the decade so I’d rather take my time than rush it out.

DoofDoof 12.16.19	Boney - it depends if you want a strict ranking order. You could do a reveal list a bit like my song one over time and just have it unranked. If you want it ranked in order it's a bit trickier, probably have to post it all at the same time.

DoofDoof 12.17.19	Pots - you'll have listened to everything you like from this list :D You might enjoy some of 15 but equally I don't think it's something you're really seeking out, just Thom Yorke if he was aiming for art-folk Defending the Callahan - if you still consider ‘Moon Pix’ a 5 then honestly musically /compositionally speaking there are a lot of similarities

DoofDoof 12.17.19	Listened to the Amon Tobin again yesterday hoping to bump but I really prefer his earlier style - although about 50% of this album really does it for me. It's like half a 90% album Black Moon and Gang Starr sort of sharing hip hop of the year - at gun point I'd say Black Moon was hip hop of the year for me as I already knew a lot of Gang Starr stuff from way back when whereas I only listened to the BM debut early this year and then this new one came out of nowhere and was actually very solid (though not as good as the debut obviously).
nightbringer 12.17.19	Strange song choice from the Hayden Thorpe album. The opener feels a bit underwhelming to me in comparison with what follows.

A few on my RYM list: Steve Mason - Walking Away from Love Bon Iver - Naeem Sturgill Simpson - Fastest Horse in Town There might be a couple of others too. also the Barker pick might not strictly be my favourite on the album but it's just such a weird departure and I do love that about it, so up it goes
luci 12.17.19	agree about Barker, it's a confounding and entrancing end to the record. you should check his Debiasing EP, as good as the LP but in a 4 track collection glad to see the Titanic Rising opener as your song pick, hard to choose on that record but i'll prob go with it for the decade list

luci 12.17.19	barker! my only 4.5. runner ups are the mikron, rx-101, shinichiro yokota. for the decade list only barker makes the top 30 though. eps were impressive this year (dj python, india jordan, aguila, jascha hagen especially). i'll probably include the burial comp instead of the individual eps, so let that be another win for 2019
Demon of the Fall 12.17.19	Barker is in contention for 'new discovery' electronic album of the year - although it may get pipped to the post. It might not quite beat out the big boys when all is said and done, I need to revisit one more time. I really enjoyed that Mikron release as well.

DoofDoof 12.17.19	was not expecting that turnaround - it's a pretty subtle album, admittedly patches of it can pass me by on some listens, but then there's a lot of depth to it as you get to know it. I wasn't convinced you'd invest in the album enough to find things you like about it, nice
