“Tasteful” Guitar Solos

Yeah, a million notes a second are fun and all, but sometimes simplicity and careful selection of the right note can be so much more. List is personal favourites, what are some of yours?
1Pink Floyd
The Wall

Track: Comfortably Numb
Classic. Needs no explanation.
2Buckethead
It's Alive

Track: Lebrontron
For a guy that can shred to the moon and back, some of Bucket’s finest moments are his simplest. Lebrontron’s solo is fantastically uplifting in that regard.
3Stone Sour
Audio Secrecy

Track: Say You’ll Haunt Me
What a fucking gorgeous solo.
4Ghost (SWE)
Opus Eponymous

Track: Ritual
Short and sweet, but so damn effective. Jigolo Har Megiddo and Witch Image also accepted.
5Linkin Park
Minutes to Midnight

Track: The Little Things Give You Away
Yeah yeah yeah Brad isn’t exactly a great example of lead guitar, but this solo is fantastic. It competently recognises exactly what the song needs and every. single. note. is perfectly chosen to fit the song’s composition.
6Brand New
Science Fiction

Track: In the Water
Wow.
7Tool
10,000 Days

Track: Jambi
Before Fear Inoculum dropped this was probably the “definitive” Adam Jones solo, and for damn good reason. Goddamn is it effective.
8Frank Zappa
Joe's Garage

[ArsMoriendi]
Track: Watermelon In Easter Hay
9Torture Chain
The Ascent of Deimos

[oltnabrick]
Track: N/A
10Sparklehorse
Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot

[aydross121]
Track: Cow
11Guns N' Roses
Greatest Hits

[SlothcoreSam]
Track(s): Sweet Child O Mine and November Rain
12Anterior
This Age of Silence

[GhostB1rd]
Track: N/A (The whole damn thing. I actually really love this rec, jamming right now)
13Warning
Watching from a Distance

[IAmScott]

14Television

[solongatlast]
Track: Marquee Moon

22Mark Knopfler
Kill To Get Crimson
