David Bottrill Classics

A few years back, I noticed that several of my favorite albums by multiple bands shared a common theme. But not until listening to Soen's "Cognitive" did I put the pieces together. And that common theme was either production or mixing by David Bottrill, a spectacular Canadian record producer who brings out the best in the artists he works with. These are my top 20 albums either produced and/or mixed by David Bottrill. Let me know if I neglected to include any other classics.
1Tool
Lateralus

So hard to put this over Aenima...but recently I have been digging it more.
2Tool
Ænima
3Soen
Cognitive

No matter what the detractors say...this album is that good!
4Tool
Salival

No Quarter and You Lied are two of the best Tool songs (opps, covers) every made!
5Stone Sour
House of Gold and Bones - Part 1
6Soen
Tellurian
7Mudvayne
The End of All Things to Come
8Fair to Midland
Fables From a Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times is True

Sadly, a classic album by a now defunct band.
9Stone Sour
House of Gold and Bones - Part 2
10Coheed and Cambria
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness
11Flaw
Endangered Species
12Onesidezero
Is This Room Getting Smaller?

Just mixing...but a great mix it is.
13Muse
Origin of Symmetry

Actually purchased this for the sole fact that David Bottrill was the producer. Incredible (and likely the best) Muse album.
14V Shape Mind
Cul-De-Sac

Also purchased this one as well, for the sole fact that David Bottrill was the producer.
15Ultraspank
Ultraspank

Picked this up at a outside CD sale in Venice Beach way back when...a great (and underappreciated) industrial metal album.
16Dream Theater
Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory

I know...to have Dream Theater this low on the list is a crime. But he only mixed it. And, although I like Dream Theater, I am not a huge fan. A bit too much wankery.
17Flaw
Through the Eyes
18Nothingface
Violence
19Staind
Chapter V

A good album...but at the time was a disapointment. How dare they claim that they are going heavy...and not!
20Godsmack
Faceless

I hate to say it, but this sounds like any other damn Godsmack album to me...
