Breezes along very nicely. Maybe a little too breezy? It’s a gooey little pop record with some jazzy characteristics. But not the interesting jazz or anything. The kinda fucking shit you hear for some 70s news station or as an old theme song for a sitcom or something. There ARE a few moments where this thing isn’t completely limp-wristed and has a bit of grit but mostly it stays pleasant and happy. The coolest thing is her voice especially because she sometimes doesn’t quite hit the notes on certain spots and it sounds really human and real. I don’t know. Most of this seems like music made for rich people or something. Doesn’t seem like it goes very deep and it is supposed to just sound pleasing to the ear. Which it totally is but you are in shark-infested waters my friend and the music needs to reflect that if you want to win.

Annoying and drone-y. Minimalist and a racket. Quite the anxiety giver. Play this record during a tense social situation and it will certainly heighten the feeling. The music is slow and simple but intense. Rhythms are the main focus with some strings(?) that kinda just drone around it. Vocals won’t usually come in until halfway through a song and when they do seem more like an additional instrument. There’s a plethora of instruments on here that I couldn’t be able to name and that’s pretty cool. Definitely the more experimental/stranger of the two. Also a lot darker and sinister sounding which is more my thing. It has groove but it’s not the typical western groove I’m used to. This is a great record just something past my knowledge and I don’t think I fully understand it’s true artistic value. But fuck it I like it more than the Japanese Local News record so...
