Seed of Chucky - Yeahhhh…this one is pretty atrocious. It tries to do the whole “Bride of Chucky” thing with the dark and sexual humor, as well as with the over the top violence, but it goes so far that it just becomes totally uncomfortable. Cult of Chucky - This one has some nice moments, but I REALLY hate the multiple Chucky angle, and I hate the execution even more. Plus points for over the top violence, though. This movie killed it in that regard. | | 5 |  | Slayer
Hell Awaits
Cult of Chucky - Yeah, I know, it’s a fan favorite. I still think that some of the writing and acting is straight to DVD level quality and not in an enjoyable cheesy way, and it really takes me out of it. Some great kills with fucking awful effects, but at least they attempt to make Chucky scary again. There are some really cool ideas and great scenes, but overall the negatives bother me more than it does other people. | | 4 |  | Cradle of Filth

Child’s Play 3 - This entry is still pretty enjoyable, but teenage Andy and the setting take this back a notch. It’s not a bad film, it is just the first in the series that feels merely serviceable and the human characters are like 10x less interesting than usual. Bride of Chucky - Hell yeah! This movie brings out the same reaction in me as the director’s other film, Freddy vs Jason. It’s super over the top and bloody with the comedy turned up to 10, but in a way that’s dark enough where it doesn’t feel out of place. I know some fans don’t like this one, but I have never understood why. It’s so much goddamn fun. | | 2 |  | Deicide

Child’s Play 2 - This movie is basically also #1. This is Chucky at his absolute best. The best one liners. The best kills. The most ruthless. The main reason why #1 wins is because this one isn’t really very scary, it’s just fucking awesome. Goddamn I love this movie. | | 1 |  | Cryptopsy
None So Vile
Child’s Play - This is one of the very first movies to scare the shit out of me. That “no battery in the doll” scene still freaks me out to this very day. Playing this like a whodunit actually works really well, even though we all know that it’s actually Chucky. This adds so much more tension for the rest of the characters within the movie, though. My main complaint is that Chucky isn’t full Chucky in this movie (that comes in part 2) but this is the only one that I would really consider a successfully scary horror film. | |

02.07.19 | Yeah, I kept going back between 1 and 2. It's hard to judge, because 1 is scarier and actually creeps me out, but 2 is like a thousand times more awesome. They're pretty much both 1 imo.

I really enjoyed the more recent ones (Cult and Curse), actually. I thought they were taking it in kind of a fun new direction and trying to put a little horror back in the series. | StrikeOfTheBeast

New teaser looks fucking awesome, but then again there is no Chucky voice yet so it's hard to tell...
Also, since none of the original creators approve of there being this remake in the first place, I'm a bit skeptical. Also, I don't know how the fuck they're going to get Chucky's personality with it being an AI, but I guess we'll see. |
