people are so much greater than the sum of their parts, we just tend to forget that.. unfortunately i've had two friends pass away from drug overdoses this year and it's been disillusioning to say the very least. why are we reminded of this only in bad times; when we think we have a semblance of mortality? even now there is nothing particularly exciting happening besides school and work but that's just fine. i'm healthy and I have a roof over my head. rambling aside.. I really want to work on living in the moment more. | |

The past two years I've been conscious of the fact I don't live in the present and it's been a struggle to try and change it. I find myself falling back into that same mindset but I won't stop trying to change, being conscious of your actions or thoughts is one step closer to changing the things you dislike about yourself , imo. Since then the holidays aren't just holidays but a chance to slow life down and just enjoy being alive, cherishing the memories and moments that are created by those we hold close, as we grow older we come to the realization that our lives are finite so it's best to live it up while we have the opportunity. :)

I have an unhealthy habit of purposefully desensitising myself to everyday situations as a coping mechanism & whilst this is less emotionally draining & prevents me from becoming overwhelmed in the short term, it can leave me feeling very detached & disengaged. I've never be en able to get the balance right. | Chortles

09.27.18 | A couple months ago i started actively trying to make an inner change by monitoring my thought patterns and emotions, and by constantly training my brain to live in the now. Im in the best mental state ive ever been in in my adult life. Its definitely essential for personal growth. |
