A lot of people seem to write this movie off as a try-hard swear fest aimed at edgy teens but I think they're missing the point. The use of swear words isn't used as a crutch for the comedy, it's used to push the movie's message about censorship and how you shouldn't blame the media for your shit parenting. Also all the songs are bops.

A lot of people say this movie is mediocre but I disagree. Yes, the college/university setting is nothing new but it's the characters and creativity with the idea of a monster university that pull this movie through for me.

If I could live in any movie this would probably be it. The movie is hilarious, there isn't a second wasted throughout the entirety of the runtime, it's visually one of the best movies I've ever seen, absolute eye candy. Just overall one of the few movies I can watch over and over. |
