Enter Shikari: Ranked from worst to best

My first list on this site. Enter Shikari are the kind of band that accompanied me through all the years and still hold up very well, even though my taste evolved a lot in recent years. I just love their quirky style and honest attitude. There are probably as many rankings of their dicog as fans. This list is my personal ranking, feels free to post yours in the comments. :)

Take to the Skies

Putting TTTS this low is probably a pretty controversial thing, because it's really a classic in it's genre, but it just didn't age well imo. It has a nice flow and the drumming on this is so awesome (it's on their other records, too, but Rolfe is on fire here). Some of the tracks on here still belong to their best material, but ES just came into their own on Common Dreads. And while I don't see songs on this really dragging it down it's the album itself that's not holding up to the rest.

Favourite songs: Mothership, Anything Can Happen In The Next Half Hour, Today Wont Go Down In History, Return To Energizer, Adieu

A Flash Flood of Colour

There was a time when this was my favourite ES album, because it's so easy to get into. It's very song oriented and catchy, the rock and hardcore elements blend beautifully with the electronics, but some of the tracks are too straight for their own good and dubstep just sounds so dated in 2018. Still a fun album and everything from Arguing With Thermometers on bangs so hard.

Favourite songs: Arguing With Thermometers; Ghandi Mate, Ghandi; Pack Of Thieves, Constellations

Least favourite songs: ...Meltdown, Search Party

Common Dreads

This is probably their hardest album to get into, but Common Dreads is the blueprint for their following releases. Enter Shikari freed themselves from the trancecore label and wrote some of their best melodic songs.

Favourite songs: Juggernauts, Zzzonked, Gap In The Fence, The Jester

Least favourtie songs: Wall, Fanfare For The Conscious Man

The Spark

Probably a little controversial to put it this high, but Enter Shikari took the pop and classical inspired dynamics they already used on The Mindsweep and incorporated them in a more stripped down style - with great results! The Spark is nearly as strong as its predecessor, but shorter to an extend where it's bothering me a little. It's still a satisfying listen.

Favourite songs: The Sights, Airfield, Shinrin-yoku, An Ode To Lost Jigsaw Pieces

Least favourite song: Live Outside

The Mindsweep

Their most diverse and colourful album. They really nailed it songwriting wise on this, everything feels like it's meant to be there and it has a great flow. Their best to date imo.

Favourite songs: The Last Garrison, Myopia, Torn Apart, Dear Future Historians ...

Least favourite song: The Bank Of England
