| Rec me (Bandcamp) Artists similar to these
Loving these bands to death, but since i've heard their music over and over again, i need to find someting new.
I would prefer Name-your-price releases, but i still may check out other stuff.
Thanks for any kind of help! | | 1 | | Oceansize Frames
My favourite band, as you all can tell by my username. All of their albums are at least a 4.5 to me.
Cyril Snear, Vessels, Shiner, British Theatre and of course Vennart are similar but there's gotta be more out there. I like Amplifier and i know that they are "brothers in amps" but i don't think they are all that similar. An unknown post rock+prog rock band with good vocals would be awesome to find | | 2 | | Cave In Jupiter
Failure and bands of that spectrum are similar. I don't necessarily look for the metalcore side of Cave In, but more for the space rock / prog rock side of things | | 3 | | Deftones Saturday Night Wrist
All of Chino's side projects have some similar aspects to this, but i haven't really found something comparable beyond that. Love songs like Xerces, Entombed and Tempest | | 4 | | dredg Leitmotif
I love dredg and Leitmotif remains my favorite record of theirs because it flows so impeccably.
Their following records are still awesome but a little to "nice-sounding" for my taste | | 5 | | A Perfect Circle Mer de Noms
The emotional highs on this are incredible. Thirteenth Step is amazing too, but stuff like 3 Libras, Orestes and Brena is out of this world. Rishloo, Soen, Karnivool and bands of that variety are similar, but i only really love Rishloos second album and Soen is consistenly 4.0ish for me, but the vocalist lacks the dynamics of Maynard. | |

04.23.18 | Not really sure if this is the kind of space rock you're looking for, but maybe this?

04.24.18 | Thanks guys, but none of these recommendations are what i'm actually searching for | osmark86
04.24.18 | well my band is hugely influenced by all these bands (great taste my man!) but you'll probably have to wait until we finally record our next album to really hear these influences completely. first album is much more in the Cult of Luna/post-hardcore direction.

04.24.18 | From the first glance i can tell that this would be much more up my alley. Thanks osmark! | sizeofanocean
04.24.18 | Also, that is a pretty damn sweet bandname | JS19
04.24.18 | dude you are going to struggle to find much of what you're looking for for nyp that's why you're not getting many recs - get rid of the NYP and you'll get plenty recs | sizeofanocean
04.24.18 | I wrote in the description "I would prefer Name-your-price releases, but i still may check out other stuff." But yeah, you're probably right
Changed the title now a little | JS19
04.24.18 | People don't read the description they click on the title if it's something they want to engage in - no mention of it there | osmark86
04.24.18 | Cheers dude! The bandname coincidentally is taken from the Vessels album with the same name. And Galileo Galilei ofc ^^ | sizeofanocean
04.25.18 | I almost imagined that.
Unfortunately i didn't get any recs beyond that, even though i changed the title | JS19
04.25.18 | It was too late man - list was already off the front page | JS19
04.25.18 | You ever check Demians or Gazpacho btw mate | osmark86
04.25.18 | if you haven't listened to Cardiacs I really think that you'd enjoy them. Mike Vennart loves those guys too. | BlindHouse
04.25.18 | RE: A Perfect Circle, have you heard Billy Howerdel's solo album? It's not consistently great, but there's about 5 or 6 tracks which are very much like Mer De Noms. | sizeofanocean
04.25.18 | @Osmark86 yeah i know that Vennart loves them. I don't see the appeal so far and the similarities to Oceansize are scarce.
@JS19 i will be checking them out
@BlindHouse Ashes Divide is ok, but nothing more. Thanks for the rec though | osmark86
04.25.18 | well yes, they're not very similar to Oceansize at all really but their brilliant musicians and quirky as hell. I find them very enjoyable myself even when I don't really like "the sound" of some of their songs because of how well-crafted they are. | sizeofanocean
04.25.18 | Dunno man, they reminded me of a post punky version of Mr Bungle but much less enjoyable. The vocals didn't reasonate with me either |
