Metal Health

What I've been listening to lately aka I am bored and wanted to make a list
1Aborted
Goremageddon

Fun, gut-ripping death metal with some very full, bombastic production and nice melodies interweaved into the mix. 4.2/5.
2Aborted
The Archaic Abattoir

That but to a slightly smaller degree. 3.8/5.
3Primordial
To the Nameless Dead

Clean vocal black metal that makes we want to burn down all the Saxon's. 4.6/5.
4Primordial
A Journey's End

Harsh vocal black metal that makes me want to burn down all the Saxon's. 4.5/5.
5Carcass
Heartwork

I don't think this needs much explaining. 4.4/5
6Carcass
Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious

This neither although I have to say this one was definitely a grower for me. Couldn't really aprreciate Carcass's much heavier sort-of Grind roots initially but if anything there ability to transition and release incredibly important albums in both melodeath and grind makes me respect them more. 4.1/5.
7Tiamat
Wildhoney

Beautiful, riffing doom with vocals that kinnndddd of remind me of Steve Von Till. 4.5/5.
8Explosions in the Sky
The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place

Probably doesn't need explaining either but motherfucker this post rock is gorgeous. The pure essence of spine-tingling beauty. 4.6/5.
9Insomnium
Above the Weeping World

My love for this record is consuming my life please help 5/5.
10Insomnium
Winter's Gate

My love for this record is consuming my life please help (2) 4.7/5.
11Panopticon
Collapse

Austin Lunn makes angry black metal instead of pretty black metal because politics and the government are annoying evil entities. Oh but there's still good ole American folk so there's that. 4.4/5.
12Panopticon
Autumn Eternal

This album is a perfect album to space out to and really clear the mind of toxic thoughts. It's so soothing and uplifting, might've listened to this around 50 times or so. 5/5.
13The Menzingers
On the Impossible Past

The Menzingers writes songs about fucking up. 4.6//5.
14The Menzingers
Rented World

The Menzingers writes songs about fucking up except now they're older and fucking up more 4.2/5.
15Summoning
Oath Bound

Best listened to when playing Breath of the Wild. 4.7/5.
16Summoning
Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame

Best listened to when playing Breath of the Wild (2) 4/5.
17Modest Mouse
The Moon & Antarctica

I don't have much to say about this because I just listened to this but it was sometimes weird, sometimes beautiful, sometimes fun and catchy, sometimes all 3. All in all I loved it. 4.4/5.
18Allegaeon
Elements of the Infinite

Fun, immense tech death that puts composition before technicality (but don't worry-they're stll technical, impressively so). 4.2/5.
19Omnium Gatherum
New World Shadows

Was my favorite melodeath album until Insomnum came along and fucked everything else. Still, this is a gorgeous slab of atmospheric melodeath with some bomb-ass keyboard on the s/t that makes me nut every time.
20The Wonder Years
Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing

I CAME OUT SWINGIN
FROM A SOUTH PHILLY BASEMENT
DRENCHED IN STALE BEER AND SWEAT
LED BY HALF LIT FLOURESCENT LIGHTS I
SPENT THE WINTER WRITING SONGS ABOUT GETTING BETTER
AND IF IM BEAING HONEST IM GETTING THEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 4.7/5 (might be a 5 one day)
