Favorite 2017 EPs
I am not a big fan of EPs, however, as more bands got into this trend, I learned to appreciate them. Also, I started listening to KPop lately and LPs are a rare sight in the genre. Anyway, these are the ones I checked out this year. Feel free to recommend any cool releases. |
| 1 | | Nine Inch Nails Add Violence
Not as good as Not the Actual Events, however, it has some awesome tracks ('Less Than', 'The Lovers' & 'The Background World'). Hopefully, the 3rd EP will be out soon. |
| 2 | | EXID Eclipse
KPop with light jazzy/lounge influences. I wish it was a full length, because there are no bad tracks here. |
| 3 | | Ulver Sic Transit Gloria Mundi
Really cool additions to the current sonic direction. 'Bring Out Your Dead' and 'The Power of Love' are really good. |
| 4 | | Lo-Pan In Tensions
They should release a new album, because this EP isn't enough |
| 5 | | Causa Sui Vibraciones Doradas
Causa Sui getting heavier. Marketed as a mini-album, you get 35 minutes of great music. |
| 6 | | EXID Full Moon
A more electronic follow-up to Eclipse, this feels a bit rushed. Unfortunately, only half of the songs are strong. |
| 7 | | Girl's Day Girl's Day Everyday #5
More KPop. Cool songs throughout, however, 'Thirsty' is awesome. |
| 8 | | Bodyjar Terra Firma
Good songs, but unfortunately too short. It's time for a new Bodyjar LP. |
| 9 | | Firebreather Emerald Eyes
Solid sludge/doom/stoner metal EP for fans of High on Fire, Orange Goblin or Monolord. |
| 10 | | The Dear Hunter All Is As All Should Be
I am ashamed to have them at no. 10 after Act V was my favorite album last year. Somehow, I didn't get into this EP as much as I wanted to. Maybe I have to listen more to it. |
| 11 | | Mastodon Cold Dark Place
Nice EP, but again, I didn't get into it as much as others. |
