DinosaurJones' Rec Contest FINALE

It's finally been narrowed down. Interestingly, one of the finalists was almost eliminated in the first round, but hey, these things happen. Slipping by on a technicality, I'll allow it. So we now have the last head to head between DEWINGED and DRIFTER. This round, I want 3 songs from both of you, which I will tally and give the mean score of.
1Coheed and Cambria
From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness

ONE SONG of your choosing. It can be anything!
2Explosions in the Sky
The Wilderness

One INSTRUMENTAL song. No words allowed!
3The Dear Hunter
All Is As All Should Be

Another 2017 track.

And the cumulative time of these 3 tracks MUST be below 10 minutes! Have at it, friends! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. The winner gets... um... an intense feeling of personal satisfaction and validation!
4This Mortal Coil
It'll End in Tears

Dewinged

Song to the Siren - This is an interesting one. It feels like it should be an ethereal type song, but to me the vocals are much stronger than the typical airy-fairy style associated with that (I'm thinking of Enya or something along those lines for some reason) That said, it has a very almost "introductory" feel to it, and feels like it should lead to something else... in this case, it will lead into the next track the Dewi picked!

4.2/5
5Noveller
A Pink Sunset For No One

Dewinged

Corridors - My typical go-to when it comes to instrumental music is post-rock or something along those lines, so this is a pleasant departure. This too also has almost the same sort of anticipatory feel as the last song, likely due to the descending pattern that plays throughout the track. A very pretty tack, all things considered, but I hope the last song has a nice payoff, because both of these songs have had a very "buildup" vibe to them.

4.1/5

Dewinged

Gas Giant - Oh, yeah, here's the payoff. Brann Dailor with 2 synths you say? I might almost expect this to sound a bit more batshit, honestly, but I'm glad that it isn't. Brann, of course, is beating the shit out of the drums, and I'm assuming that's him singing as well. I would expect nothing less from him, and this track finishes off Dewi's list in a strong and satisfactory manner!

4.3/5

TOTAL SCORE: 4.2/5
7TTNG
Animals

Drifter

Baboon - Goddamn, the guitar player for TTNG is just absolutely insane. I love those beautiful technical riffs, and in such a clean tone, which is part of why I love CHON so much, you can really hear the clarity and cleanness of their playing without distortion muddying things up, such is the case here. I also like the more groove-oriented feel this song takes on halfway through... I definitely need to hear more TTNG!

Drifter

Kissed By A Roach From the Grave - Drifter, you have consistenly surprised me throughout this comp, because before this started, I think all I legitimately thought you listened to was hip-hop, but uh... you have a lot knowledge of all these bands with the sort of pretty style of guitar that I really sink my teeth into (and am insanely jealous of) This is a short, but beautiful track.

4.1/5
9Just Neighbors
Being Where I Thought I'd Be

Drifter

L I G H T - Again, I don't know if you picked up on the fact that this style is pretty much what I splooge over or you did this by chance, but damn, son. This is another track that is right up my alley. I absolutely love the interplay between all of the instruments, and all the variance in the riffs and runs throughout. Just another track that I found myself getting lost in, and that switch about 2 minutes in, just... mmm... and the inclusion of vocals was unexpected, I thought this would be a purely instrumental track, but the vocals suit the song well, and are not a focal point in any way.

4.7/5

TOTAL SCORE 4.37/5

A WINNER IS YOU!!!
