The Violent Sleep of Reason

Daredevil.

First season is perfect outside of some shit acting from the side characters. Wilson Fisk is one of my favorite villains ever and this portrayal is unbelievable. Season 2 got a little rocky with The Hand, but I thought Elektra and especially The Punisher scenes were some of the best in the entire Netflix universe. Very excited for them to tackle elements of the Born Again storyline for next season (Wilson Fisk confirmed as villain, w000).

The Punisher.

If season 2 of The Punisher is what I think it is going to be (more focus on mob/street like bosses with Jigsaw as a main villain) then this will be the hardest 1 of all the 1s. First season was fucking amazing as a set up for Frank Castle REALLY becoming the Punisher. They also made me give a shit about Micro, which was crazy. The Punisher is probably my favorite character in the entire universe and I cannot fucking wait to see where they take this series.

Jessica Jones.

This is a pretty substantial step down from Punisher and Daredevil for me, but it's still a very enjoyable series.
The Nuke storyline is where they kind of lost me a bit, but all of the Killgrave stuff and JJ drinking alone in her very unusual hero spirit were spot on. This is probably due for a rewatch - I've only seen this series once.

Luke Cage.

Tbh the first half of this is better than Jessica Jones imo. The music fits the tone so well, and Cotton Mouth is one of the best villains in the entire Marvel on screen universe. I never really read Luke Cage, but this made me want to pick up some comics.

That being said, the second half of the first season went into super goofy territory with over the top acting and action from an otherwise grounded show. This might get a bump if season 2 is consistent.

Defenders.

This show mostly bored the living shit out of me, excluding an episode or two. This was really dissappointing because I was looking forward to this for years - it felt like they had like $4 on their budget, which does not work for a collaborative show like this. Characters MOSTLY didn't bounce off eachother as fluidly as I would have liked (outside of a couple of interactions), the choreography was lame - ESPECIALLY compared to Daredevil and Punisher...eh. I dunno. This had so much more potential.

Iron Fist.

Seriously fuck this show. This is one of the few shows to actually make me angry for having wasted my time watching all 13 hours of it. If I have to hear Danny say "but I am the Iron Fist" or "I have to find my chi" one more time, I am drinking gallons of whiskey until I kill myself.
