Chelsea Grin Ranked
One of the bands that got me into this genre , even if their now a shell of their formal self.
Feels so bland , repetitive , a sad excuse of "going heavy again"
Welcome back aint bad though
A fun mess of an album with no apparent direction. Crewcabanger becoming one of the more defining songs for Deathcore itself. Also Rip modern (CG) Brees.
Ashes to Ashes
Despite being fourth , its a great album. Jason Richardson definitely improved not only the technicality but the overall Riffs and the guitar works itself. Alex's vocals are now a shell of their formal self , but its not that detrimental.
When I listen to Ashes... , you think "Why didn't it sound more like this?"
I liked the more "Heavy" sound in the guitars and was disappointed to find any clean vocals in Ashes... because they seemed to work so well in Lilith and Dont ask.
Desolation of Eden
Chelsea's Debut album shows us Alex's signature "shrieking" vocals. The album was fun in a way it had its heavy hitting riffs , although some songs did act like a whole breakdown. I personally didnt mind the Breakdowns , but i know thats a gripe along alot of metal fans.
While i respected the change that CG had in Evolve , i still don't know why they would ever move from this more "blackened" sound. Alexs vocals were at their total peak , the album showed us darker riffs and i found they just worked together so well. The build up from Kharon to My Damnation is one of my favorite build ups in deathcore.
Chelsea Wolfe >
Thought it was Chelsea Wolfe... disapponted.
Anything else >
A shame CGs hit or miss on this site. I think they used to have some of the best vocals in the Deathcore scene.
Well sputnik is generally deathcoraphobic so..
You can't blame us when you gems like this band.
I've never honestly understood the hate for deathcore. Anyone wanna help me out here
i think breakdowns sound dumb, lazy and uncreative so a genre that revolves around them is no bueno
also this site is pretty pro Animosity, The Red Chord and other somewhat older deathcore groups
yeah i could see the point there , some bands just feel so uninspired. I'm happy to see other bands such as Thy art and Whitechapel moving away form breakdowns and into a more traditional death metal setting instead of playing the same cards over again.
they are all 6
they are all 6
Ashes to Ashes is their best, not even a contest
anyone could argue anything but Self Inflicted is their best tbh
Evolve was easily their best to me, that shit ripped hard from front to back
