1Sainkho Namtchylak
Stepmother City

Kate Bush and Diamanda better watch out... 4.6
2The Tiger Lillies
Either Or

A bit samey for such a lengthy album, but there's plenty of fun to be had with these characters, and the concept is executed well... 3.9
3Vince Staples
Big Fish Theory

mount whateverest... 3.1
4Arcade Fire
Everything Now

Hardly the unprecedented dumpster fire people are making it out to be. Aside from the t/t and Creature Comfort, however, nothing really does much for me... 2.6
5Lana Del Rey
Lust For Life

Ehh, Honeymoon was better... 2.8
6Cat Power
Moon Pix

Saw her live in 2014, I only wish I'd heard this album earlier... 4.8
7PJ Harvey
White Chalk

That's three PJ albums I've checked and loved now. Bring on the rest... 4.8
8KMFDM
Yeah!

They had some absolute classics back in the 90s, but have simply been going on too long now. En Esch and Guenter were the real talent, and have been absent since Y2K. Lucia can't sing or write for her life, and Sascha clearly has a skewed idea of what the appeal of KMFDM was in the first place. With each new release of recycled cyber goth nonsense, their legacy is tarnished further. It's a sad state of affairs when one of the best bands ever now probably has more shit material than good. The Simpsons of industrial rock... 2.1
9Chelsea Wolfe
Hiss Spun

We'll see how well it ages, but right now this might be my favourite Wolfe... 4.4
10Wye Oak
Civilian

damn it Boney, this some Wes Anderson bullshit... 2.4
11Deftones
Saturday Night Wrist

I was getting a little weary of croony nu metal, when Pink Cellphone made a welcome appearance on Side B. Almost sounds like a How To Destroy Angels track... 3.8
12Queens of the Stone Age
Villains

After reaching new heights of lyricism, pathos and songcraft on ..Like Clockwork, this new release from the Queens is a regression in every sense. Every song is a macho, swaggering, Smooth Sailing-esque number, and it really starts to grate after a while. Also the production is wack... 2.6
13Dead Cross
Dead Cross

A succinct and solid hardcore punk album, elevated to a new level by Mike Patton's peerless vocal talents. Happy fiftieth my dude... 3.9/5
14Sharon Van Etten
Because I Was In Love

My sad white gurl stockpile is growing, gotta catch 'em all... 4.1
