| Led Zeppelin: Neek'd
You've been neek'd, bitchez | | 9 | | Led Zeppelin Coda
Apparently even Zeppelin’s leftovers can make a solid album. Even though it contains Zep’s worst song, “Ozone Baby,” (those vocals effects are so atrocious), it still works on many other levels. “Bonzo’s Montreux” actually operates as a song despite only featuring drums and percussion effects, and “Poor Tom” is just as fun a track as Zeppelin can put out. | | 8 | | Led Zeppelin Presence
This album gets by merely on the power of its incredible opener “Achilles Last Stand” and its almost-but-not quite as impressive closer “Tea for One.” Sandwiched between these excellent tracks are a series of jaunty but repetitive tracks that do their own thing until they simply can’t anymore. Besides those two tracks, the record is easily their most forgettable and least interesting release. | | 7 | | Led Zeppelin In Through the Out Door
While some prefer the hard rock edge of Presence over this album, I enjoyed the synthy, messy, why-the-hell-not? attitude of the Jones and Plant-led In Through the Out Door. “In the Evening” is a muscular song despite the synthesizers, and songs like “Fool in the Rain” and “Ally My Love” proved that Zeppelin could handle adding in some pop appeal without sacrificing what made them such an endearing act. | | 6 | | Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti
My least favorite of the “classic era” of Led Zeppelin, despite the massive and mind-blowing symphonic rock masterpiece “Kashmir.” It’s just that aside from that track, the album doesn’t work as a flowing, cohesive work. It’s just not as consistent, and even though all the experimentation is greatly appreciated, by the end of it all it just feels a bit been-there-done-that. I could definitely see it growing with time, though. | | 5 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin II
The lows are never as low as they can get for Zeppelin on here, but the highs aren’t nearly as high. Sure, “Whole Lotta Love” and “Ramble On” are incredible tracks, but on the other hand “Living Loving Maid” and “What Is and What Never Should Be” are repetitive and sound strangely toothless. I know having this album so low on a list like this is a massive sin, so I’m gonna stop while I’m ahead, but this just didn’t hit the spot as well as it should have. | | 4 | | Led Zeppelin Houses of the Holy
For me personally, this is the album that matches Zepplin’s sonic diversity with ridiculous consistency the best. Somehow they made going from the delicious reggae of “D’yer Mak’er” into the massive but subdued “No Quarter” work perfectly, and there really just isn’t a song on this that isn’t great. | | 3 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin
A monumental achievement in the history of rock music, even if the songs were stolen from old dead blues guys. The combination of blues, hard rock, and occasional acoustic influences just proved that the guys weren’t afraid to try something new, and boy did they succeed. It’s just an incredible album that stood the test of time better than many albums from that era. Oh, and “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” is probably one of the greatest rock songs of all time. | | 2 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
Probably the densest and most mystical of all their albums, and not just because of the strange release. Led Zeppelin IV is probably the most acclaimed and respected Zep, not in the least due to the inclusion of the default classic “Stairway to Heaven.” It might not be their most consistent release (I’m looking at you “Four Sticks”), but with other brilliant tracks such as “When the Levee Breaks” and “The Battle of Evermore,” this is far more than just a vessel for that one all-time favorite. | | 1 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin III
It may not be the most groundbreaking Zeppelin album, but it’s easily their riskiest. A combination of surging rockers and acoustic ditties, III saw the band at their most willing to try new sounds and screw expectations. There’s just something absolutely thrilling about the whole endeavor, and it’s by far their more consistently fantastic album ever released. “Friends” is just goddamn freaky in the most gorgeous way possible, and “Since I’ve Been Loving You” is easily top 3 Led Zeppelin. I just can’t get enough of this goddamn album for the life of me. | |

08.17.17 | "song is either No Quarter or In The Light"
I'd say there's better songs on Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti. Not many though, those two are definitely among the albums' highlights.
For me it would have to be The Rain Song and In My Time of Dying. | Frippertronics
08.17.17 | Yeah, those are definitely close seconds on those albums for me
seriously wish Zep did In the Light live but it would've sounded like ass thanks to Robert's voice being fucked for most of the tour | Dylan620
08.17.17 | 8 and 6 are too low imo but you nailed the top two, any Zep ranking with III at #1 is automatically good | neekafat
