P!atD: An Controversially Rankeding

A companion to my recent "Pretty. Odd." review why not?
5Panic! at the Disco
Death of a Bachelor

Just an ugly, ugly sounding album. There's some genuinely cool ideas here but they're mashed together so unappetizingly that even the brilliant highlight "Crazy=Genius" and the surprisingly solid closer "Impossible Year" are nearly wasted on such an otherwise unremarkable pop album.

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

An amalgamation of what makes pop-rock fun but ultimately bland, A Fever You Can't Sweat out takes a neat concept but provides little to write home about other than a few good tunes and a lot of other eh ones.
3Panic! at the Disco
Vices & Virtues

Probably the best representation of Panic's sound across the board, featuring the most refined pop-rock sound to a surprisingly enjoyable degree, it takes everything bad about their debut and makes it better, creating an very good album in the process. Some awesome and playful instrumental work here.
2Panic! at the Disco
Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!

Infusing the Panic sound with electronic shimmers and glitches, Urie sculpts a bombastic and full sounding pop album before descending into the ugliness of its successor. "Casual Affair" is by far the most incredible song they've ever put out, "Girl That Your Love" acts as a darker, simpler sister song to it, and the closer on this is absolutely gorgeous. The lows might bring it down a bit, but the highs are the highest they've ever reached.

Pretty. Odd.
